Sloe Gin (the song) Scared Me

I love this song.  The tone of the whole song is…dare I say sexy and inspiring.  It makes me want to do bad(good) things to my wife.  Anyway…………………

BUT when listening to this CD in the car and you hear those police sirens or ambulance sirens you start looking for them and slow down! Haha.  Im blasting the album and all of a sudden Im freaking out looking for the police car.  I got the guy behind me honking because I slowed down.  I didn’t stop, I slowed down ha!

Well I just listened to my first sample from the new CD- Sloe Gin and it is a good thing I wasn't driving either, cause I would have crashed my car, crashed it right down into the ground. I have, while listening to other songs of Joe's, got off onto the wrong exit.  Yeah, I think you can't focus on anything when Joe is playing, other than listening to Joe playing. 

  This CD can't get here fast enough.  Perusing the song titles, I can't wait to hear what Jelly Roll sounds like, or dirt in my pocket.  The cover graphics are outstanding as well.

This song is going to be an "Instant Classic"

Just listened to the "Sloe Gin" song sample.  I'm not sure there are too many words to describe it, except to say the two samples I've heard so far.... Joe, you're out of control with this !!!!!!

If the rest of the material is like this and the mix sounds soooo good, even with being played through poor speakers, that I think Sloe Gin could possibly be your best work.  Well done, very well done !!   

Please tell us which guitar you used on this song.  I like to guess.  At first I wanted to say it was the "G", but there is alot of warm woody tones, so I'll, guess it's a Les Paul. The feeling in the playing reminds me of the feel of the playing in "reconsider baby", which is one of my favorite of yours.

This is so funny - I did the same thing - just listened to the song and went running to the
window to see where the sirens were coming from.  I can just see Joe laughing at all of

Thanks, it's nice to know the real lyrics.  I would also be interested in hearing the original artists' version of this song.  I've heard other versions of Reconsider Baby that I think are not very good at all.  No one could top Joe's version anyway.  I also now could not even image  Joe using the two syllable word in place of the one syllable word in Sloe Gin.  And on a separate but booze related note, we have no Sloe Gin in the house, but hell yes, there's Galliano !!!  kat

I know I cant be the only one this is happening to, but every time I hear a siren, I think of sloe gin, and the song is not even being played. I'm guessing that may never change for the rest of my life!

...in Germany they do sound very different and one is not so much adjusted to the American sirenes... *lol*

I had read your post a few weeks ago, and was aware of the sirens in the song...but that STILL happened to me twice in the car, LOL!  And once in the house, I started looking out the window to see what was going on outside, duh! Silly me! wink
