Topic: The Revivalists

This New Orleans based band reminds me music is alive and well in this century.

Saw their very nice live cover of The Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody" and decided to check out their music.
Bought four albums and I've got to say these guys are the real deal and should be investigated.  My new favorite band for sure.

Saw them at the Portland Waterfront Blues Fest last July...in fact, they were the reason I drove 600 miles to the fest....They were fantastic and the crowd was so young and enthusiastic about them....I had a blast....Would drive 600 miles to see them again.....

Just another song with a heap of passion.  The sax player is extraordinary on this one.....

I think they're playing in Key West this April and that sounds like a great time for my first experience.  The singer, David Shaw, reminds me of a cross between a young Van Morrison and Freddy Mercury energy level and the band is tight.
I was listening to their catalog all day yesterday and bought all their albums.  The last time I did something like that was 2005 for some guitar player named Bonamassa.

You won't be disappointed.....I heard that one of the guys was riding his bike in New Orleans and he heard some guy singing on his porch...he stopped and asked if he would like to sing in a band that they were forming and that is how they got together initially....They are an incredibly talented group...every one of them....Their show was one show that energized the crowd as much as I have felt in a long, long time....
