He played 2 nights there at Alpine Valley, and I was fortunate enough to see him at what turned out to be his 2nd to the last show ever.
The day after he died, I saw Bob Dylan in Merrillville, Indiana. Bob said 'everyone knows what happened last night. Well, Stevie, this is for you.' And then he proceeded to sing 'Moon River' in the way that only Bob Dylan can. It was the most surreal experience I ever had at a rock & roll show. Not sure the significance, but it was something I'll never forget!
