Topic: Why so slow

With the popularity of Joe I am surprised this site is so slow as far as membership and liveliness of the site.  Is there another NON FB site in a forums formatt around that is more active?

Re: Why so slow

It was far more active when Joe actually signed on the his owner forum and discussed things.

Hasn't been here for years,

Likes Twitter and Instagram as his choice media now.

Re: Why so slow

I still like the forum format for discussing all things JB.
Twitter and such good for quick tidbits of info but that’s about it .I think topic discussion easier to follow in a forum format. Also builds a sense of community you don't get with the more popular social media
I seemed to notice as Joe got more popular and well known  the forum participation shrank.Unless that is just circumstance

Re: Why so slow

I don't care whether the forum is slower ; it makes readily available information, pictures and stories from ages ago. Sure, facebook, instagram etc took a big part of its population, but what's written here stays and that's why I like forums ; social media pages tend to be messy as hell.

Re: Why so slow

I use the forum as I’m not on Facebook, Twitter or any other social media sites.
It may not be busy but at least I don’t need to check it ten times a day.
Just don’t criticise the ticket prices and you’ll be made welcome.

Same here.  I remember as a kid in the 1960s my grandparents had party line telephone service.  It was a big contributor toward sticking one's nose into other people's business and the general unsavory hobby of too many people at the time of gossiping, which I quickly learned to detest.  IMHO, modern social media is nothing more than electronic gossip on a grand scale.  Most of it is not healthy at all for a civil society.  I far prefer subject specific forums such as this one.

Re: Why so slow

Why so slow- let it get even slower - it is becoming my personal JB diary   - yeah ..... listen to his  solo here - nice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjuaf_piVHg

Re: Why so slow

Re: Why so slow

there is a problem with this forum - it doesn't favour a conversation. It is more like a post board - good post has to stay uncovered forever. If one ever want to respond to a post even with an exclamation point ( that how I feel often)  - it makes it go down and lower priority - wrong, wrong , wrong. From now on I will post whatever I like and feel - even if my post is foolish and silly compared to others. It's doesn't matter if it keeps it going.
