Topic: Joe's Les Pauls?

Well I saw Joe Bonamassa (and talked to him, really cool guy!) on Norrtälje Bluesfestival in Sweden he was using two Les Pauls. One looked like a 1959 (or 1960) reissue, it had a cherry sunburst and a flame top. It was also signed, didn't see the name. The other was a Goldtop of some sort. When I saw it looked like a Studio, because I didn't see any bindings on the fretboard or the side (I was standing just by the stage), but looking on the pics it looks like it has binding. It also had a black pickguard. He was also using a black Strat, with maple fretboard and Lace Sensors, which I guess was a Clapton Strat. He had also rented the amps and was using two JCM2000s.

My main question is what model the gold top LP was.

Re: Joe's Les Pauls?

The signed flamed les paul kinda looks like Devon Allman's Les Paul, signed by Les Paul himself.

There are some small differences, the flame is less appearant at Joe's LP, but it does look like Les Pauls' signature on there wink
I dont know about the goldtop, could be a standard or a custom shop historic 1956/1957 but those have white scratchplates, can be easily replaced though.

We have just one world, but we live in different ones.

Re: Joe's Les Pauls?

Yeah first I thought it was a Goldtop Studio, because I didn't see the binding. Now I'd guess as you said, a reissue or Standard with a replaced pickguard.

First I thought Joe's signed LP was a 58, seemed like it was a flame top, then I saw it did have a flame top.
