Re: BCC IV Album Review
Thanks for posting that Kenny.
I am sure the reviews will start coming out.
After that it's hard having to wait for the release date !
It sounds like it is going to be a great album.

Re: BCC IV Album Review
I'll have to listen to it for myself first. Collide was a little underwhelming and Kevin Shirley's way of producing is getting a little on my nerves.

-1 Have to disagree as my humble opinion.I do like the song. Also can't say I find anything to complain about in the production. But maybe I am easy to please!

Re: BCC IV Album Review
Just heard the whole album and on first listen it could be the strongest one yet. There are 3 songs that last about 8 minutes but they aren't self indulgent. "Resting Place" (with Joe on mandolin) and "The Cove" are just EPIC and cry out to be played live.
More thoughts later........if possible (going on holiday to Barcelona).

Re: BCC IV Album Review
thnx for review...envy too...
one of these days i swear i'm gonna start a music review blaaaag just so i can score early releases...
won't be long now thoughcurious when you have time kenny
if 4 could possibly be the strongest...which other one would compete?
i have an special affinity for one...but i think two is better, the strongest
if you dont count live which is excellent BUT one and two....idk i got to go with 2 even though it doesnt have sista jane in it
so that would be the strongest but not necessarily the fave? idk
oh wait....two doesnt have SOY....
i dont know just want the new one already damn it !
maybe i need to get better at this before i start my blog
Ha!! I have had the same thought.
If only I had taken those writing classses more seriously.....!!!

Re: BCC IV Album Review
None of the praise in this reviews is exaggerated. BCC IV is OUSTANDING!!!!!
PS. I know what all my friends are getting for Christmas.
PSS. I know what I am getting for Christmas - that thing you put the vinyl on (turntable?) to listen to this
Re: BCC IV Album Review
Mine hasn't arrived yet.
My personal opinion is BCC was a solid album.
BCCII was a little bit samey, it didn't sound like much of a progression from BCC and I found it a bit tough to pick which songs came from which album.
Afterglow is currently my #1 BCC go-to album choice and has been since its release...
BCCIV I will pass judgment on when I hear it for myself and based on Collide, I'm excited to hear the rest of it.
Re: BCC IV Album Review
IV is the best BCC album by a country mile
I still think that Joe, for all his talents, doesn't quite sit right with the hard rock soloing. But on this album, the tone is better for rock and he gets a lot closer to what I expect to hear.
The songs are longer and more energetic and the album definitely keeps interest beyond a couple of plays.
Quality release with great playing !!!
Re: BCC IV Album Review
I really like 'Last Song For My Resting Place' Epic ballad, dynamics, musical changeups, well written lyrics, pleasing vocals, epic guitar solo, plus a bit of mandolin and fiddle. Top notch stuff, wish there was more like this on the album. Glenn's vocals really don't do it for me and the other songs feel relentlessly heavy and pounding. Oh well, glad Joe plays in side projects of different genres that way there is something for everyone.
