Topic: I wish I never heard of DIPG, aka Another Day with Abby

I hope this topic isn't considered inappropriate for this forum.
I've been been a part of this place since 2004, even before this version of the forum, but have never posted a topic like this.

Abby Greene, the daughter of very close friends of ours, was recently diagnosed with DIPG. She is 7 years old.
DIPG is a rare form of childhood brain cancer for which there is no cure. There are only about 300 cases per year in the United States. DIPG progresses very quickly and the median life expectancy after diagnosis is roughly 9 months.

Adam Greene, Abby's father, was the best man at my younger daughter's wedding. Adam, his wife Rachel, Abby and her younger sister, Emma are such a great family. It is heartbreaking to think of what they are going through and what the months ahead will be like for them. Abby is currently undergoing radiation treatment at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago during the week and traveling back home to Crystal Lake, IL for the weekends.

It is not in my nature to ask favors of people, but I am compelled to make an exception in this case.
Please visit the website below and, if you are able, make a contribution to the Greene family. No amount is too small.

Thank you and advance apologies if this post is objectionable to anyone.

Prayers and a donation.
To face losing a child is just the worst. Knowing there is a deadly clock running no matter what is done is terrifying.
