Topic: Joe returns to Amsterdam
I see he is playing the Ziggo Dome on 29 April 2017. I saw Golden Earring there last year and it holds 12,000 although that will lessen if the floor is seated.

A bit different from the Carre then. Loved seeing him there.
The Ziggo Dome can actually hold 17.000 people, not 12.000 (as stated on the Ziggo Dome's own website), but that number indeed drops when the floor is seated - which it will be. It'll be interesting to see how many people will actually attend the show. The upper tier, for which tickets were on sale before, now seems to be getting closed off entirely, with those that bought tickets up there being moved down. That's not entirely unusual, and they do a nice job of curtaining off that upper tier - you'd hardly notice it's even there. However, they've stopped selling tickets for large parts of the lower tier as well. As of yet, only the floor seems to be filled nicely, so despite the fact that it's actually an arena, by closing off much of the lower tier and the entire upper tier it'll probably end up looking more like a (large) theatre.
The turnout was pretty good after all: according to Joe, there were 6.500 people present in the Ziggo Dome tonight, which I assume makes it one of his bigger indoor European shows. The upper tier was indeed curtained off, as expected, but the floor and lower tier were filled nicely. Great show, with the added bonus of large video screens on both sides of the stage, enabling the entire audience to see Joe's fingers flying over the frets in close-up. Setlist was the same as the last couple of shows. Sound quality - usually a notch above average at the Ziggo Dome - was exceptionally great; possibly the best-sounding Bonamassa-gig I've ever been to.

I wasn't there. If I hadn't been on a holiday now, I would have opted for the upper ring and would be really pissed if they had given me a chair way back in the venue! Any chair further than 8 rows from the stage I don't want. Especially with the pricetag from today's shows... I prefer to look from above on the stage instead. Bye from Canada!
