Re: Josh Smith Over Your Head

We went to see Josh last week at the Baked Potato when we were in LA for the BB King Tribute. He did 2 long sets and it really is a shame how few people were there considering the unbelievable talent this guy has. Was nice to see a number of his friends came out to see him like Kirk Fletcher, Sam Meek and Travis Carlton. Nice of them to show their support like that. He was playing with Gary Novak on drums and Tim Lefebvre on bass and they did two sets. The first set I was quite familiar with the songs having seen him play quite a few times last February. The second set featured some less familiar ones to me and it was nice to hear something new. He played 6 songs off of "Over Your Head" and I think one of my favorites was "First Hand Look". It's a much more rockin' number than some of his other ones.

Here is the playlist of all the songs https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P … jYwCr2_Nlm

Re: Josh Smith Over Your Head

I went back and listened to some previous works and this new one is different.Yes more rock oriented and has a Hendrix type vibe at times.
I will say  in the album the bass player is outstanding with a thick deep tone

Your rock candy baby
Your hard sweet and sticky

Re: Josh Smith Over Your Head

Saw Josh tonight in San Francisco and he was outstanding....words don't do justice to this man's ability...I had seen him on the first cruise but he absolutely blew me away tonight...played a lot of songs off his new album and they are good....if you ever get a chance to see Josh, don't even think twice, just go, tonight his show cost $22 a pop and that was the best $22 I can remember spending....I can't wait for the next cruise to see him again in February...
