Topic: Weird concert experience last night

We had a thread awhile back about wacky concerts - which certainly describes last night.
Awhile back I heard the Marc Ford was playing at Oneida this week.  So while there last
week to see Marcia Ball I asked at the front desk - they don't have a clue but do get out
the brochure and a band called "Hollywood Vampires" is pictured - 5 guys none of who look
like Marc Ford.  So I asked the ladies - what happened to Marc Ford?  WHO? I said Oh forget it.  Betty and I go in to see Marcia and after the show I ask the bartenders - who is
playing here next week?  They get out the same brochure and point to the Hollywood Vamps.  Again I ask what happened to Marc Ford and they answer WHO?
So yesterday my husband Ken says there is a golf course in Green Bay he wants to check
out - I said good, I want to go to Oneida after.  So we walk in and there's alot of people
mingling aroung - I again went to the desk and asked who is playing here tonight?  Weird AL in the ballroom.  I said well who's in the bar - they get out same brochure - Hollywood
Vampires.  OK.  We go in and sure enuf there's 5 guys setting up with long jet black hair,
arms filled with tatoos - chains - and they start playing cover songs - AC/DC, Motley Crue,
Poison - all that good stuff.  About 45 minutes into their show they say "we have 1 more
song but stick around the best is yet to come."  Ken looks up from his video poker machine
and says "Oh good maybe we'll hear some Cinderella" and without anything else said they
leave the stage.  So I get up from by barstool, turn around and there's a guy standing next
to me holding a guitar case.  He looks alot like Rich Robinson. - I turn to Ken and say
"Rich Robinson is standing next to me" - Ken laughs.  So I return from the bathroom and
standing next to "Rich" is Marc Ford. - I again say to Ken - now Marc Ford is here.  Ken
just about spits his beer into the poker maching laughing and wondering what the golf course slipped into my food.
To make this story short here - we ended up seeing Marc Ford lead guitar, Muddy Stardust
(from LA Guns) on bass,  the drummer from Faster Pussycat on drums, and the "Rich"
look alike was actually Eric Dover (from Alice Cooper) on guitar/vocals.
They tuned up with a little Jeff Beck - Ken quickly cashed out on the poker machine - and
we saw one hell of a show - totally unexpected and I couldn't believe not even the employees and the casino had a clue what was going on.  Jaci

I can sympathize with those people that didn't know who Marc Ford was. I didn't know either until I looked him up. At first, I thought he was related to Robben Ford.

I guess you're right Danny - after the Vampires were done 3/4ths of the crowd left - there
were maybe 30 people watching Marc - poor guy.  They put on a much better show than
the Vampires.
