Topic: What to expect from Gregg Allman ?

I'm going to see him in May.    And I really don't know what kind of show I'm gonna see.

Since the Allman Brothers have disbanded,  and Gregg's last popular album " Low Country Blues " was sort've a new path for him,   I don't know what to expect.    Whether its gonna be a nostalgia show or new matierial ,  or what ??

Anyone been to see him lately ?

We saw him right after he returned from his health issues. The band was good, he sang and played old standards mostly and he was obviously not full of energy. I hope his health has improved.

Well, IDK if this is good news or bad news .......  if he does the same music I've heard from the Allman Brothers for the last 40 years ,  then that's both good and bad.   I love the music,   but over and over  ......

But on the other hand, I went to see Jackson Browne last year,  and to his credit he did not do a nostalgia tour ( although, his discology is not that large )  ,  he is still creating new music and that's what the bulk of his show was about .......... problem though,  I did not enjoy his new music.    He did not even do " Load Out / Stay " , which I really wanted to hear , in person.

I guess I see what I get smile
