Topic: Jazz Pics but bigger?

I love the sound of the small Jazz pics (I use a Jazz 1 rather than Joe's Jazz 3) they just seem to be made of the perfect material for sound, but I was wondering is it possible to get a Jazz 1 but at the size of a normal pic? (I have baseball mitt hands) I have searched Dunlop's web site and have come up with this http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/max-grip-jazz-III which is not what I'm looking for but seems to be as close as I can get. Can anybody help with this? hmm

Re: Jazz Pics but bigger?

You can get Jazz III XLs:
http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000P5OTA2/r … 7&sr=0

They're about the size of a regular pick, not sure if they'd be what you're looking for.  I bought a pack and didn't like them (too used to regular Jazz IIIs at this point).  PM me your address and I'll send you some.

Would 207 Dunlop Jazztones fit the bill?

Re: Jazz Pics but bigger?

I tried the Jazz III picks but also wanted something a bit bigger. I tried the larger Jazz picks but didn't like them and ended up using Dunlop Ultex Sharps. Similar shape and size to the larger Jazz picks but I much prefer them.

Re: Jazz Pics but bigger?

I've been using the JazzIIIXLs for a year or 2

Thanks for the offer which is very generous. I found them locally and they are way too pointy for me. I prefer the Jazz I for blues as it has a nice rounded edge and softer sound but is unavailable in larger sizes. Too bad. I love whatever material they are made of. Thank you so much for your generosity.

Thanks for this suggestion. I did try these some time ago but found them too bulky. Thanks for trying to help. Thisforum is always so generous.

Yeah wow.... definitely interesting thanks for this. I wonder if they are made from the same material as the Jazz I? I emailed Dunlop about a Jazz III replacement but larger and made from the same material and got bubkas as an answer... Nice to know they answer sometimes. Thanks so much for this.

I found these on the same page as your link. http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/primet … ound-print

I still wonder if they are made of the same material as the Jazz I. For some reason those Jazz pics seem to have a very sweet tonal quality. Just too small for my mitts.

Re: Jazz Pics but bigger?

Those Dunlop picks may be out of stock temporarily. Sunday evening with the temps around 102-105 here in Benicia, Ca. a fire broke out at the Dunlop Mfg. main facility. The interior sprinklers and a second alarm response by multiple agencies had it under control within a few hours. I ran into Jimi Dunlop this evening and he showed me a couple pics from inside and said the fire damaged the materials receiving and staging area. Gonna take some clean up and rebuilding, but they will be back on track before too long. If you're short on picks you might wanna hit your favorite supplier and grab some.
