Re: What song are you listening to right now?

Rainy day, flipped on Pandora to Joe's channel. First up Chains and Things live at Shepherds Bush.
The memory of that gig put me in a most excellent mood. One of his top covers for sure! cool

Someone who doesn't get mentioned nearly often enough..... the late Big Jim Sullivan  - Walking The Dog; plus a couple of others down the years.

Re: What song are you listening to right now?

Took a little tip from a friend here, had a poke round the charity shops ("thrift shops" to you in the US) of that Blues stronghold Barnard Castle at the week-end, came out with The Spikedrivers 2001 album, Delta Roots.

Aside from the Gig Guide, I think this is a rare time these folks, led by Ben Tyzack, have been mentioned here, yet their still going strong (an upcoming appearance at Guisborough next month).

So, what do you get on this album - well, not raucous fireworks but some very sweet, semi-acoustic pickin’, akin to Chet Atkins, with a toe-tappin’ swing that’s just right for a Sunday afternoon’s chill. Fine mix of self-penned originals and covers of Professor Longhair, JJ Cale, Big Bill Broonzy, Muddy Waters, Robert Wilkins & [of course] Robert Johnson; all done as “live” takes in the studio.
