Topic: meeting fans

Next month will be my 6th Joe show with 1 meet and greet last year, with Joe getting more popular everyday I was just wondering if he still meets fans and signs autographs out back by his bus after his shows any more ?

Re: meeting fans

Not sure nowadays, last time out at Manchester,UK,I waited for about 3hours at the rear gateway to the MEN arena,a few magazine covers /cd's in the hope of a signature or two.The bus swept in and went straight through the roller-shutter door,it came down and that was that! A bit miffed to be told the band would not be coming out,but ,seeing as I already have a few Joe sigs,I reluctantly let it go,saw a great gig and put it down to experience.I didn't bother this time around at Newcastle.

Come on you Blades!

Re: meeting fans

Personally, I would never try to stop Joe while he was getting on his bus. He deserves his own time, and his schedule is so hectic that most of us couldn't even begin to imagine how little time he really has. I'm not trying to insult anyone who does this, its just my personal opinion.

Re: meeting fans

Yeah,it was always a case of Joe coming out before the sound check or any press he had to do,or an hour or so afterwards,-we know he's busier nowadays and time is precious ,but it was a way of telling him face to face the way his music touched us,but,as you say,it may have become a bit unmanageable these days.c'est la vie.still love the guy!

Come on you Blades!

Re: meeting fans

I understand what you are saying it not about stopping him, years ago he use to come out to greet fans after the show out back was just wondering if he still did that. already did a meet & greet last year was wondering for some friends, Joe is the only artist I have ever seen that really enjoys time with his fans and that's part of his success taking a little time to talk with fans.

well FWIW i think they were referring to when Joe used to come out to greet fans who hung around.
to answer the first question, its NO. I mean I never say never but Joe does not do this anymore like he used to. I'm glad he did for so long until it became truly un-manageable.

Unmanageable is a great way to put it Jane.
Like many here, I was fortunate enough to follow Joe in the days of 100 or 200 person shows. If you hung around for 10 or 15 minutes, Joe would come out and sign autographs or just chat until everyone in line was able to meet Joe and/or get something signed. It's definitely a different animal now...Joe is playing 5,000 or even 10,000 (Red Rocks) seat venues.
