Whenever a new tour is announced on this forum, a few posters will groan about the price per ticket. In the past Joe has been kind enough to respond to this issue by stating that there are many factors that justify the high prices; the large number of people in his crew that need to be paid, the shows are bigger newer and more complex, the lighting is better and the high price of gas. ALL of these factors certainly justified the high cost of a ticket in the past.
Now we have this Winter Acoustic Tour and the price for a ticket to this Portland show $135 for the best seats. The factors listed above cannot be an factor for this "stripped down all acoustic show". So why are the tickets still so expensive? I'm going to see Loreena McKennitt next month in the same venue. Her show will also be an acoustic show with two other musicians accompanying her. I paid $49.50 a ticket.
I'm not complaining, believe me. I've been a fan of Joe's for years. I'm happy for the success he's earned lately and I hope this show sells out as his last one here in Portland did back in 2013. I'm just saddened that I can not afford these tickets anymore and I know there are hundreds or thousands of other fans in the same boat.
Oh well.
