Topic: NCAA Football 2015

Since our former NCAA Football topic vanished I thought I'd open up a new one now that we're a week into the season. Was happy to see the Buckeyes get some payback on Va. Tech. However I'm am concerned about how much hype the press is heaping on OSU. I'm a college football fan because of the fact that you never know what can happen on any given Saturday (or whatever day an NCAA game gets played these days). I hope Urban Meyer can keep the team focused on each game only. Each week I guess the media will announce who's facing who in the playoff, which is a waste of time till November IMO. How do the rest of you feel about your teams chances this year Ric, Tres, Jim, Shreddy, Curby, etc.??? To be honest I was a bit anxious at the 1/2 when Va. Tech was up by 3, but had to remind myself that OSU is a better 2nd half team, which was evident Mon. night. Also they pulled off an impressive win without 4 key starters who Meyer suspended for 1 game. I'm in sports Nirvana now since the fall is my favorite sports season. NCAA & NFL action, MLB Playoffs/World Series, and the NBA gets rolling soon too!

                                                                                            Go Buckeyes!!!

                                                                                            J Dawg

P.S. Hey Ric, good game coming Sat. with your Aztecs and the Cal Bears, who rolled up 73 points on Grambling.

Re: NCAA Football 2015

Aztecs have a good defense and the offense looked spotty in the first game, a cross town match against a chump (USD). I'm waiting to see a real opponent. Rated high but those things are ?
OSU seems real.

Re: NCAA Football 2015

Sorry you guys, I think I deleted one day when I was pissed off at something or somebody.....my bad. The Tide took care of Billy Badger and we have a weak sister this Sat. I'm worried to say the least, 10 SEC teams in the top 25 is a new record and Alabama will be fortunate not to lose two in conference. The SEC west is really loaded, no gimmes at all. I'm looking forward to a great year, you are right that this is the best sports time of the year, even though my Braves suck.....and you left out the PGA FedX golf finals and President's Cup coming up soon, also a hoot! RTR you all.

OK, Aztecs played a good team and got spanked. Suspicions confirmed. Great basketball school, football not so much.

Hey Rick.....you better watch out for them Bears as they are going to be loaded in basketball this year too....they play SDSU in Las Vegas at Thanksgiving...Cal got 2 of the top 5 incoming freshmen in the country this year...

Re: NCAA Football 2015

Was happy "THEE" Ohio State University rolled over Hawaii 38-0. However I picked a bad week to take the points (was gettin' 41) for a $10 wager with a very old friend in Kuaui. We blow up each others phones msging on Saturdays during the college season. Cal can get some sweet revenge over a not so good Texas squad Sat. in Tejas. Mack Brown petitioned all the Big 12 coaches and others to vote Texas into the Rose Bowl a few years back when Cal should have gone. ROLL ON YOU BEARS!!!!

It's up in the air right now, I'd rather catch Jeramy Norris Sunday in Folsom at The Powerhouse @ 3 and beat it over to Harlows in Sactown to see Matt at 7:30. I've seen Matt 4 times, he KILLS IT!!!! Saturday is FREE, but it's my football day and Cal plays Texas Sat. evening.

                                                                                 Mess With Texas!!! Go Bears!!!

Will be looking forward to it. Expect the Aztecs to be improved from the team you saw last year playing in the big show. They have some recruits too. wink

So far a leaked rumor. Given Coach's high ethics standards,  I wait to see. As a player said today, the East Coast Establishment hates to see underdogs from small markets win so much. tongue

Re: NCAA Football 2015

With the firing of their AD, Texas has fallen on even harder times huh? It makes me very happy Dawg, I hope Cal beats the living shart out of them. Cal is favored by 6 1/2 on the road in Austin, Bevo is pacing on the astroturf. Alabama is also a 6 1/2 point favorite at home vs Ole Miss and I would take a 1 point win right now. Good luck to da Bears. RTR

Allright Dawgy....you know we (Notre Dame) want another shot at them Buckeyes, but one game at a time.....

we also want another shot at them, one at a time is all you can do. RTR

Re: NCAA Football 2015

I see ya logged in there Mike. The big one is upon us again....Bama favored by 6 but I expect that to drop. I'm not so sure that all we have to do is limit Fournette. Controlling the line of scrimmage, both sides, is always needed in this game. And so the winner moves closer to an SEC title and the playoff. I'm glad we're at home.

Re: NCAA Football 2015

Les Miles strategy with two weeks to game plan...

Fournette up the middle
Fournette up the middle
Fournette up the middle
Punt.

Nick is too good of a coach to lose this one with two weeks to game plan.  Stack the box, stop the run, win the game.

Bama by 21

Re: NCAA Football 2015

I'm just not buying into a 21 point win. It is going to be a little sloppy, rain off and on in the forecast. That should make for less scoring, both Henry and Fournette will find it slow going......Bama 21 - 13
