Topic: NAD - 1961 Gibson GA30 Invader

Just scored one of these from Angel Music on Denmark Street....what an amp! Like a slightly souped up tweed Fender with reverb (or 'reverberation' as the control is labelled)...fantastic tweedy tone, makes a great contrast to my '66 BF Deluxe Reverb smile anyone else played/own one of these?

Killer amps. I was hooked on 60's gibson amps up to the white face era for a long time. Killer tone.

Nice one!! And good to see people shopping in Denmark Street... We've got to keep these shops alive... So much history.

I'm overdue a visit down there, did you see anything else worth a gander?

There's always great stuff there...I got the Gibson from Angel Music and they've got loads of old amps up there, many of them not on the website...old Selmers, Laneys, couple Marshalls and some lovely old Fenders including a brownface Vibrolux that I was very tempted by!

Re: NAD - 1961 Gibson GA30 Invader

I have two 1960 GA30RV amps they are amazing it took me about 10 years to find my first one I bought it in 1012 the second one showed up in a Guitar Center shortly after so I had to buy it. I have seen two others in Northern California music stores since then one was just last week and I keep thinking I should buy it. If you ever get a chance to try a GA 30 RV you will not regret it, it's grate in the studio or small gigs or big gigs with a good PA. With the 12" and 8" speakers at half volume you get this clean tone from the 12 and the 8 just pukes it's guts out then turn it up and it gets even better. Gibson reverb is huge on par with vintage Ampeg. I have a nice collection of 50's and early 60's Gibson amps and the two GA30RV's and my GA79RVT are three amps I will never sell.
