any opinions on ernie ball 2208?(custom gauge 11-52,wound g string)

hallo to all.
i would like to know if anyone has previous experience with this set of strings.i usually play ghs eric johnson 11-52,or gibson brites 11-50.
my concern is the wounded g string,what's the tonal difference with plain strings.also its too heavy maybe(22)?
i play blues-classic rock with a les paul with medium high action.
ernie ball describes this set as a light gauge "jazz set".
