Topic: Josh Smith & Kirk Fletcher

Saw these guys together for the first time on the cruise. I had seen Kirk before when he played with Joe on the Muddy Wolf shows, but had never heard Josh before. He is one helluva player. Fantastic solos! Another one of those guys who started playing when he was like 5 years old or something. He used to play a lot on the East Coast and then moved to California. We met him for the first time at the Rock Candy shows New Years' shows. Joe introduced him to us. Joe was so happy his friend had come out to see the show. Josh is a super nice guy and has just left for Europe to do some touring. He contacted me saying a guy in Germany wanted to use some of my photos of Josh from the cruise to put in magazines in Germany to help promote him. Thought that was pretty cool and hopefully it works out. Wish the photos had higher definition to them, but they are just video stills. We'll see what happens.

Thanks. I didn't get to meet him but have interacted with him on Youtube a bit. Regret not catching more of Kirk and his sets. The videos help. Totally unexpected out of nowhere talent which goes to show how tough it is to be a working musician with guys like him flying under the radar around. I think the KTBA cruise will help jump start some careers.
