Topic: Rock Candy Funk Party - The Baked Potato

Saw RCFP at the Potato last night, the late show; first of 3 nights they are playing there. They were amazing and really seemed to be enjoying themselves. The Baked Potato is very small so you can hear all the stage jokes and banter amongst the band. They did 1 new song called Uber Moment or something like that. Joe joked that they were changing the name for that performance as they were not happy with their earlier performance of the song to Uber Redemption; they kicked **** on the one I saw.

Joe was playing his Dumble rig with the TC 2290 and vertical 2x12. I was backstage at the LA show last December and he had just bought it, he may have also been using a Bassman as 1 was sitting in front of the Dumble.

They played for over an hour with each member taking various solos that were all great. This is such a cool band and it's great that someone is continuing this type of music; fusion/funk/jazzrock whatever it's may be called; it's just great music. I'm lucky that I have a venue like the Baked Potato were you can see that quality of musicianship like they are playing in your living/family room.

First set had them starting out a bit raggedy with the new sit in keyboard man (Neto was stuck in Brazil)  but the band warmed up as they went along and were clicking in high gear for most of the night after the flow started. I'm sure the next nights will be even better. Killer music for sure and what a treat to see Joe and the band having such fun. Tal had to get his wife to bring a bundle of sticks for set 2. He was breaking them full speed and tossing them to the crowd. He bounced one off me and the wife snagged her souvenir.
