As the subject line says, who's going and where you staying?
We're going and bringing a few of Phil's Ohio clients and their wives. They love Joe and were very excited to get a chance to see him. We'll be staying at the Doubletree. Not a whole lot of great options near to the theatre.
Hi Rogue
We are going and so is Sally. We are staying at the Residence Inn (36 E. Gay Street Columbus, OH). Last time we saw Joe in Columbus we stayed at the Double Tree downtown, which was nice but there were several cars that were broken in to that night in the parking garage at the hotel. The Residence inn has free breakfast too and looks like about a 5 minute walk so it should be a good location. See ya next week!
Mike & Sherry
I will be there!
Anyone have an idea of where we might be able to meet up in advance of the show - somewhere close to the Place Theater? It looks like there might be a few places on North High Street a block or 2 from the Place. Looking at Google maps I see Cafe Napolitana Pizzeria and Bar and El Arepazo Latin Grill. Maybe there are others that someone knows about.
The Mrs. and I will be there. Our first show. Can't hardly stand the wait. I came down for breakfast the other day and said. "Only 2 weeks till Joe." Wife said "Happy Birthday". I had totally forgotten.
Love to meet whomever will be around if we can decide on a venue. I don't make it to downtown very often so I can't really recommend a place.
Currently, we're staying at the Doubletree.
Two years ago we had to drive several blocks to find a place to eat. And then, we had a heck of a time finding a parking space.
Aside from the places Mike mentioned, I can't think of anywhere near the theater to meet up before the show.
I did a little recon for possible pre-show locations - below are some of the ones closest to the Palace. I tried to stick with places that were more on the casual side. None look that large but I could be wrong. thoughts?

Quick update - after corresponding with Sally12333 it looks like the pre show meet up will be at the bar in the Double Tree (where several are already staying). See you there ... 5:30 isn or so depending on if anyone needs to eat first before heading over.

We'll try and swing by but might be difficult since we're having dinner before the show with Phil's clients.
Ok, we'll see everyone at the Doubletree.
Hope to see everyone soon!
I would love to stop by and meet everybody....but a long work day looks like it is going to spoil those plans.
Wow! what a great time I had last night with my son at Joe's concert.
I will write more later today or tonight.
I loved the Ded Nugent t-shirts
Here is a small review from the Columbus Dispatch, this morning.

Thanks guys....it was so much fun and tomorrow I will get to see him in Youngstown with my wife.
It was so cool to see the lights come on the stage after the AC/dC song and see the band in those Ded Nugent t-shirts....my son and I both loved that.
The whole acoustic set was really good and my son just loves Jelly Roll
it is so fun to watch these guys ,as they sound so good and have such a darn fun time doing what they do.
Joe's left leg and foot never stop tapping the whole acoustic set, and every time his left leg tapped, my right leg tapped!
When they played Athens To Athens, i seriously wiped my cheek and eye of a few tears...it was soooooo good.....I am not sure if it was that the band having so much fun or the fact that my son and I were sharing this great experience together.....I am not sure....but i was a happy guy.
The way that Gerry was jamming on that fiddle and smiling and Mats was smiling and Lenny was so into it......Lenny....I love you man. that was indeed the best acoustic experience that I have ever witnessed.
During the brief intermission, we never left our seat....we were afraid we would miss something.
Now....the electric set....good lord......wow!!!!
Buzzy.....you are so right....i am still riding high and am still so stoked up.
What a wonderful experience......my son said my head never stopped bobbing for the whole 90 minutes.
There was a time when Joe was playing his really low and soft solo that he had to shush the crowd, but it was mainly just a few people that kept shouting at him.
My son and I both really love the way this band interacts with each other and the fun that they are having....it is very contagious and it has to rub off on the audience.....I know it sure did on us and it is such a pleasure to see.
Lenny and Derick smiling at each other and Carmine and Lenny and Tal and Derick....it just makes for a wonderful thing to see.
Those 90 minutes of that electric set were stunning, to say the least.
the lights were bright at times, and yes....all dials were turned to the right......and we loved every minute.....not a single complaint from me.
Joe.....I have no idea if you will ever read this....but just in case you ever do.....we love you man!
Just keep doing what you are doing, because you had that crowd going and the show was wonderful.
it was the firsr time for us seeing you, and I will see you again tomorrow night in Youngstown....this time with my wife.
You have made this my best weekend, not only for this year....but for the last few years.
I did a little street teaming for you for the concert and someday I really hope to meet you , sir....you are a true professional and you have me looking forward to hear your music, most everyday........I thank you for that.
Good bless you and keep on keeping on.
A happy fan, forever.
Umm...reluctant to show my ignorance here but what was up with the "Ded Nugent" shirts?
I know why Joe sings with his eyes closed. It's so that all the people moving around (rudely) and changing seats don't distract him and cause him to forget the words. I don't get out much but I've never seen nearly entire rows of people be relocated during a concert. Did they really think they could get away with snatching someone else's seats or did the event staff fail to seat them correctly the first time?
All in all, it was a typically great performance by Joe and his crew. At times they really looked like they were having fun up there.
