Topic: FREE BB King Tickets - Chicago 3 October

Maybe this isn't the best place to post this, but this is the only section of Joe's forum I hang out on - so here's where my (virtual) buddies are.

The short version of the story is, several months ago I bought two tickets to BB King at House of Blues in downtown Chicago for Friday, October 3rd - then recently bagged front row tickets to Flying Colors (Steve Morse, Dave LaRue, et al) for the same night - and it's one of only three shows Flying Colors is playing in the US so *have* to go!

I've since bought tickets to BB for October 4th in Ft. Wayne, Indiana - but still have the BB tickets for October 3rd and thought I'd toss them out here FREE for anybody that could make the show.

They're "General Admission Main Floor" (standing), but I also bought "Pass The Line" so you can get in before the regular doors open and get down front.

I paid a total of $232.30 - but rather than put them on StubHub, thought I'd hook up somebody here - especially if you haven't seen BB before, because sadly he's not going to be touring a whole lot longer...  Fair warning: Politely put, BB is well past his prime - but he's still BB!!!

Post here, PM, or email me - kevin at nexlan.com - trusting whoever gets these to go to the show and not sell them - so you gotta post a pic later!

Wow what a very nice thought Kestrou! Paying it forward at it's best! I hope you are able to find someone smile

Re: FREE BB King Tickets - Chicago 3 October

Yup - I'll let the lucky recipient post on here, but the tickets pretty much "evaporated on impact" once the offer was up! smile

Re: FREE BB King Tickets - Chicago 3 October

Thank you so much Kestrou!  An amazing way to pay it forward to say the least. My family and I have had a rough year. My wife and I's best friend died in a car accident in April. Our house burned down in June (5 months to the day we moved in to our new house). This is the first good thing to happen to us this year.

Thank you again for being so generous. My wife and I are exceptionally grateful and will truly enjoy the experience as I've always wanted to see BB. We will post pictures and a review.

Wow, incredibly kind gesture, Kestrou!!  I truly am in awe of many of the people on this forum, and Joe B fans in general.  Their generosity and kindness toward others is amazing.

Re: FREE BB King Tickets - Chicago 3 October

So the show was fantastic. My wife and I truly had a fantastic evening. We had dinner at the HOB then went to the show. Opening was a wonderful guitar player from Australia names Hamish Anderson. Great musician with a slight John Mayer feel. He played for about 30 minutes then BB's band took over. Amazing group of musicians there. BB was all smiles the whole show. His band maintained the momentum all night. BB sang and played guitar fantastically. Honestly, it felt like a celebration of life.

We helped a 12 year old boy get front row for the show. He was very thankful.

Thanks again to Kestrou for the generous gift. My wife and I are very grateful and we had an amazing time. We're on a flight to Boston for a friends wedding. I'm emailing pictures to Kestrou.

Re: FREE BB King Tickets - Chicago 3 October

Don't know details, but BB show for tonight in Fort Wayne was just cancelled...

Robert Cray was the opener, so was REALLY looking forward to it.

Hope all is well with both of them!

Hey Sarge - rest of the tour cancelled - http://www.bbking.com/2014/10/04/b-b-ki … g-8-shows/

You just might have caught his very last show?!

Kevin

Re: FREE BB King Tickets - Chicago 3 October

Oh wow. Dehydration and exhaustion are fixable but I sure hope it wasn't his last show. I'm sorry you didn't get to see him last night.
