Re: SIMO

WOW !!   Jim, I'm really sorry I missed that,  when will you bring him back to OKC ?

And I see that the old Tower Theatre on 23rd, has been rennovated ,   probably a great venue for this type of show.

Re: SIMO

JD posted a link to a full preview of his upcoming album on his FB page this morning.  Here it is:

How is this guy not filling 2000+ seat venues?

Re: SIMO

JD SIMO rocks!!!! I've had the good fortune to see many of his shows. I've got to spend some quality preshow time with him. I see him being honest to the music, his fans and himself. JD got to know my 8 year old son,as he traveled to shows with me. JD would spot my son(tall with snow white hair)out of the festival crowd and would go out of his way to come over to see him,ask he questions and load him up on picks,etc,etc...

I'm treating this adventure as I did in january of '02 when I found Joe.
I'm talking HD video, Audio recording everything, photograghing everything, autograghed everything!!! Posters,setlists,guitars,clothes,cd's........

JD is where Joe was in 2001-2002. I hope JD can rise as fast as joe did. It's been fun for me to watch.

Now, do I hold or sell some of the early and rare Bonamassa shirts to help fund my next quest???????????? GOT some festival shirts where he's kind'a one of the joe's . LOL

Re: SIMO

The new album is one of the greatest I've ever heard. It's just magic!
Finally getting to see him in April over here in the UK.
What a guy....

Re: SIMO

Yea, he really tears it up live. Really nice, personable guy too. Nice enough to let me play his LP a couple times after shows & chat.

Re: SIMO

I have not heard the new album, but the live one Love vol 1 is a sumpthin.
His first album is really good but the live one has some killer guitar licks and solos.
Some heavy stuff.
Haven't seen the new one on his bandcamp or on spotify to check out

Re: SIMO

Album was waiting on the door mat when I got home yesterday; A.W.E.S.O.M.E.  (I'd add a few expletives but I know they'd be bleeped out.)

Thanks for the link Rick.
I remember reading an article about his a couple years ago.Seems he was at the end of his rope employment wise and found a job as a player for a country artist.
Hard to think of him based on his solo work.
Anyway, let us know about the show.I know it will be great!
Also I am  loving the new album as well. Some killer jams!

Will do. I was thrilled to see that he's coming here. San Diego has become a backwater for this kind of music for the most part. I'll be getting the release and signed by him if I can. Nice to see Joe had a hand in giving him an assist. So many great artists are really struggling to make ends meet now. Half the clubs here have closed or changed formats.
