Topic: Which song would you like Joe to play?

As Joe Bonamassa is amongst the best guitarists of the presence I am thinking of "how would he play a song of somebody else"? A song that requires all skills of a brilliant Player like him.
My choice: "Farandole", originally played by an English band called Love Sculpture back in 1969. Name of the guitarist: Dave Edmunds. A classical theme (Bizet) played fast - very very very fast.

Good topic Oetzi.Tjere is a thread for somhs you would like Joe to cover. However you are being more specific I think into basing it in skill level.
So I would like Joe to plat an Al DiMeola song such as Elegant Gypsy or another of his early electric songs

I think it would be cool to hear what he does with Cliffs of Dover.

There's another post like this that has 20 or so more pages.
I will say I would like him to do ZERO covers, and just play his own music. Re-arranging covers I think has held him back in his career, and is currently figuring out ways to do more unidentifiable covers, or more of his own original music.

When you have a musician as good as JB, I think he can come up with his own face-melting impossible songs instead of putting his spin on what's already been done. Just my two cents! smile

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

I have always thought that for studio recordings you are better off doing your own stuff.  That being said I have always loved hearing live interpretations of other peoples work.   Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't but you always get another view of the artist that way.  And it can just be fun like Faith No More's cover of Sweet Dreams.

I always thought Joe could do a great job with Fleetwood Macs "Green Manalishi".

Re: Which song would you like Joe to play?

I have no complaints to whatever joe  covers so STARGAZER BY RAINBOW gets my vote and I now expect to see it on his next album or I wont buy it

I guess saying Knights of Cydonia by Muse would be pushing it a tad too far...
