Topic: Hot Tuna
Had the opportunity to see Hot Tuna last night. We hadn't see them in probably 20 years and I have to say, Jorma really hasn't changed much, just a little more grey We used to see them from time to time back many years ago, both as acoustic and electric, even caught them once at the Filmore in San Fransisco in between Dead shows. Always a pleasure to see them and hear their acoustic blues renditions. Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady have sure been together a long time, all the way back to the Jefferson Airplane days. They also had a mandolin player with them this time, Barry Mitterhoff. He added a nice compliment to the songs. I have good video of half the show, the other half I was constantly being obstructed by photographers who would plant themselves right in front of me with no concern for who they were blocking (a pet peeve of mine). The sound was really good, but the cicadas in the tress were a bit over powering at times. That's what you get at an outdoor summer event in Maryland, lol. The mandolin player commented on it at one point. I think the bugs were enjoying the music
