Topic: Tour question

Hi Guys,

Is there any reason that Joe never plays Ireland? It's always multiple dates in the UK, surely even one date can be played in Dublin? I love Joe's work but he never plays here sad ... it's crazy considering how short a distance it is from the UK.

Re: Tour question

It's called a "road trip".  I have seen Joe several times at a wonderful venue that is less than 5 miles from my house.  That being said, he does not play there every year.  This year, for example, we will travel across the state to Hollywood, Fl and see him on a Thurs night then shoot across the state again and catch him in Ft. Meyers, on Saturday night.  It's like a mini-Joe vacation, we are really looking forward to being on the road with Joe.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

Re: Tour question

Maybe logistics? Touring Europe with production in tow may not be possible to bring the circus so to speak to Ireland. I know they fly to shows in countries and have to rely on rented gear and for whatever reason Ireland is not one of them. Flying to Oz and then flying all over the country. I know that fly in shows are not the favorite thing to do by the band and crew although it is a necessary evil. You can't get everywhere by bus. They just prefer it.

Re: Tour question

I don't mean to sound harsh, but if its a short distance, why not travel to see him? With fans all over the world, there is no way for Joe to put on a concert near every fan. There are several forum members who have traveled from the U.S. to the U.K. to see Joe perform.

Re: Tour question

There would be no need to fly to Ireland from the UK mainland as there are numerous ferry crossings in vessels capable of carrying large trucks.
Maybe one day.

Re: Tour question

I know he has done a couple of shows in Ireland - can't remember the year or where, though.

P.S. I'm one of the members from the States who has crossed the pond 3 times to see Joe (and my friends over there who I met because of those shows).

Re: Tour question

Ok found this:  http://www.goldenplec.com/review-joe-bo … ar-street/  - October, 2010. Also this:  http://www.hotpress.com/news/Joe-Bonama … 37864.html - but I wasn't about to pay 20 quid to get into the archives.  There is probably some stuff here on the forum about the shows.  I think maybe Michael Lynch might have been there?
