A Blues-rock Benefit for Walter Trout at Shepherds Bush Empire

The international Rock blues community comes together on Sunday the 4th of May to present a special benefit show in London for the blues-rock legend Walter Trout who is awaiting a liver transplant.

This special show features Roger Chapman, Otis Grand, Bernie Marsden, Ian Parker, Kim Simmons, Danny Bryant, Stevie Smith, Marcus Malone, Mitch Laddie, Lawrence Jones, and others to be announced along with The Flamingo Club All Stars House band featuring John O’Leary and Alan Glenn. Proceeds will go to towards the ailing icon’s emergency liver transplant fund and his subsequent recuperation.

The goal of the evening is to pull together some great blues-rock musicians to help raise money and awareness of Walter Trout’s current predicament. This year marked the 25th anniversary of his solo career, but he is currently fighting for his life. It is hoped that the event at Shepherds Bush will be well supported by musicians and fans alike as everyone in the music community come together to show their love for Walter and to help raise monies for himself and his Family.

Walter Trout recently confirmed the release of his new CD entitled “The Blues Came Callin’” which will be launched as planned on June 2 despite his continuing health issues.

AN EVENING FOR WALTER TROUT – takes place on SUNDAY 4th MAY at the 02 SHEPHERDS BUSH EMPIRE, Shepherds Bush Green, London W12 8TT
Doors 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets £17.50 advance £20.00 on the door

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

We met up with Lee and Renee last night at a local club in uptown Minneapolis, Famous Dave's, for a Walter Trout Benefit. Good times and some good music. Walter is hanging in and even gaining a little weight according to reports. http://www.houseoftonegraphics.com/cale … l24Web.jpg
Good fun. If Davina and the Vagabonds come around, check them out. She has an amazing voice and lays down what we could call Retro Vaudeville/New Orleans style. Horns, string bass and she plays piano and uke. Top notch musicians all around.

On the way back home tomorrow. This Midwest road trip has been a ton of fun.

Don't stop praying...
Get better soon, Walter!

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

Latest from his wife. He's lapsed into an unconcious state which is expected at this stage by the doctors. The good news is that he now is at the head of the line for a liver. Continued prayers please.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

Marie wrote yesterday that Walter is not longer at the top of the liver transplant list in Nebraska. She will promote a video concerning the topic of giving our organs ( in case of death) to people who are in urgent need of them in order to survive.

In Austria EVERYBODY is a Organ-giver (donater?) if he/she doesn´t give a declaration he/she is not!

I think that´s the better way, because if you don´t want you can say NO.
A lot of people don´t think about that and wouldn´t activ set their name on the "organ giver list".

Hope it´s clear what I mean - english´s not my nativ language... :emb

For another non-native speaker it's absolutely clear.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I read that Walter Trout is no longer on top of the list for a new liver.
Read all of Marie's updates and all the downs & downs Walter Trout is going through.

I totally agree that the way Austria handles donations is the way to do it.
In Germany one isn't automatically an organ giver. One can be an organ giver but one has actively do so and many people don't think about out and don't do anything.

By the way, the fundraiser is open again for donations:
