Topic: Walter Trout in need of help

I can’t believe the change in appearance of the great artist:

- looks like he is in urger need of help here.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

The saddest of news. Walter has reentered the hospital in critical condition with total liver failure. If he doesn't get a transplant   his doctors say he has 3 months at best. Donate if you can. Pray if you do.

Have cut and pasted Ian916's original post on to Aynsley Lister's Forum - it's also on Home page; least we could do for someone who's mentored so many young artists down the years, and we want him to continue for many more.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

Did my donation of course. Great musician, great person as well.
Hope we all raise the money that is needed!!
When I donated this morning there was already 23.000 from the 125.000 needed. Great start.
You see: bluespeople help eachother, that's why I'm proud to be a part of them.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

Make that $31k now, Andre. It went up from $30k while I was typing this. smile

I agree with Mike's sentiments. Walter has mentored or played with so many young guitarists over the years from Aynsley Lister to Danny Bryant to Mitch Laddie. The list goes on and on.

If you think Walter's condition is his own doing and therefore you aren't inclined to help, remember, Walter has beaten his demons and come back a better and stronger person and the Blues fraternity would be a poorer place without him. He's a genuinely good person who deserves another chance. If you can afford a few $, or whatever you can, please donate before it's too late.

I've been a fan since the mid 90s and I'd hate to see Walter fade away. He's got more to give and I want to hear it.

Well said Phil.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

Wow, this is very sad! Besides the money aspect, the first thing I am thinking is just from what I "hear" about transplants. Is Walter on a waiting list? I'm not sure how the list works, but if someone is higher on the list but not in as dire of need, what does the hospital do?

Sending good vibes to Walter and hoping for the best outcome.

The only other musician I can recall is David Crosby getting a liver transplant. Phil Collins paid for Crosby's liver transplant.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

just seeing this so sad.  Hate it that the liver problems have progressed to this.   will post on other forums. Thanks for sharing

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

sorry to hear this for Walter. I don't know much about his music but will give and then pray for a good outcome. From what is said here he must be a much greater person than he is blues artist, and I know he plays a mean git.

Very sad.
It feels good that so many people share the post and donate.
Hope that the money will help and that we will see Walter recover and on the road again.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

I hope some great musician friends can dig deep too.

Re: Walter Trout in need of help

There's been an outpouring of donations. Over $50K the first day. Praying he gets enough and finds a suitable donor.
