Topic: Ever Googled Yourself?

Just been reading an article on AOL about a Hollywood “A” lister who admitted she often “googles” herself; so how about the results when we mere mortals give it ago?

Tried myself, and firstly I’ll say the Facebooks and Twitters aren’t me; you’d know if any were me; nor are the LinkedIn (professional? moi?).

Best one I found was a site called Smashwords; described me as; “This is the biography page for M... C..... Think of the world’s most grumpy, irascible, miserable, solitary, dark-hearted, miserable SOB you could ever possibly ...” Spookily close, but I’m only half that miserable…... as The Mentulls, among others, can attest.

Otherwise, I’m in Sports Admin, Footballer, Yoga master, a medical specialist in the fields of spinal injuries and medical research & development fertility oh, and dead 3 times over…..

When life gives you lemons; don't make lemonade.
Give back the lemons.  Why were the lemons free?  What's wrong with the lemons?

not recently. i need to do that though. not exactly for the curiosity but i have to figure out how to get my name unrelated to certain folks.
some of those people search things and personal info selling sites that exist so that creditors can find you if you are avoiding them, well some of them have me listed as being related to certain other family who has same last name and lives on same road as me. couldn't be any more UNrelated but since that family also has someone with same name as my husband and my son things can get mixed up quick.
one of my best buds remembered that i moved to the house next door and did not know the address, so she googles me, sends me mail to the other H. family address.
well the thing about that is her family and that family have a BIG UGLY past, so i let her know she just let them know where she lives, lol
not that i think they would do anything with that info or have a clue but they sure did not forward it to me as I have requested they do with my mail, offering to pay any amount for their trouble (or they could just put it back in the mailbox) and as i have done for them.

few years back there was another incident where a friend's CRAZY estranged husband who was trying to damage every single one of her relationship's googled me. i can't reveal the stupid details but he got mixed up with the other H. family too. it was funny in a kind of way but not really. anyway at the time it was easy to remove one's self from these listing but last time i checked, not so easy. keep forgetting to get back into that.

the internet can be a real pain in the rear

Would that "H" name be Hatfield? lol
I have a deadbeat with the same name here in town and was getting his collection calls for a while. hmm

Re: Ever Googled Yourself?

When I google myself it just brings up videos of me at my shooting club. I'm a Competitive pistol shooter.

Re: Ever Googled Yourself?

Or will get me on a watch list lol.

Re: Ever Googled Yourself?

I have. You can find a LinkedIn entry (have one for work) but other than that you won't find much. I tend to be low key.  My pseudonym I use for writing my books gets more mentions than I do. Which is fine by me.
