Topic: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-G3bQnLiF0  A station here in Pittsburgh plays blues Saturday night. 91.3 When we first heard her, we thought it was Susan Tedeschi or Bonnie Raitt. Anybody ever see her live?

Her last album black wind howlin' is really great

Re: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

Totally agree with Walter. Seeing her 6 Feb in Scotland. She supported Royal Southern Brotherhood on their last tour.

Re: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

Mike Zito was producing her new album: he seems to have a good effect on her. I liked her playing live together with Zito or with the whole RSB.

Airportdon, if she comes to Pittsburgh, I'll see you there. Are you going to see Tommy Castro at Moondogs...Sunday, February 9th ?

Sorry Kenny, but the UK tour was cancelled some time ago. I don't know why Mundell Music continued to advertise it until recently. Hopefully we'll see her another time. Talk of a tour with her and Mike Zito later in the year.

Mundell Music wasn't the only one. I read a post on Facebook from a guy who bought a ticket, booked a hotel and bought trains tickets only 3 or 4 days ago!

Re: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

We are going to see Samantha Fish in Georgetown tomorrow night. Hoping to run into "The General" (Bob) there. Hoping the traffic won't be too bad around DC on the way down.

Re: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

If you can, could you post a review/set list. Thanks.

Re: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

Great time seeing Samantha Fish last night. She is quite the guitar player and a great singer as well. She played some interesting guitars, an oil can, a cigar box and various other more standard ones.

Setlist:
Heartbreaker
Foolin Me
Go To Hell
Kick Around
Gone For Good (oil can guitar)
In My Time of Dying (oil can guitar)
Who's Been Talking
Lay It Down
Jim Lee Blues (acoustic)
Dead Flowers (acoustic)
Sucker Born (cigar box guitar)
Killing Floor
Over You
Black Wind Howlin'
encore:
War Pigs

Did a bunch of video. Stood in the back where I could be up a level from the floor. Unfortunately people kept walking back and forth all the time. And why is it that the tallest people always stand right in front of the stage and then hold their phones up over their heads to take video or photo? If I can get a good image with the camera in front of my face or chest, why can't they? They are a lot taller than I am. Just find it quite rude and distracting.

Anyway, here is a real cool version of Zeppelin's "In My Time of Dying" http://youtu.be/cmRI6gUphXY

A fun song: "Go To Hell" http://youtu.be/ZUnvWrgyaes

Cool version of the Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers" http://youtu.be/Hn9zgavWhiY

Re: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

Just watched the videos. You did a great job. Hope to see her when she comes through Pittsburgh.

Re: Samantha Fish...just heard her last week.

Samantha Fish and Mike Zito are headed out together on a European Tour.  I saw Samantha this past summer and she's fantastic.  It should be a great show with both Samantha and Mike Zito...hopefully some (or all) of you can catch a nearby show.

Saw her for the first time this weekend at the Bradenton Blues Festival. She was the highlight of the day. Great singer, guitarist and entertainer. See her if you get the chance! The War Pigs cover was awesome! Ran into her in the hotel elevator on the way out, very sweet, nice down to earth person as well.
