Topic: Best Album 2013

This hasn't been the best year for new releases, but this morning I bought Crossroads Music Festival 2013 and after a few listens this is the album I've been waiting for.  The two Gregg Allman/Warren Haynes songs alone are worth the price of admission.  Sent chills down my spine.

Re: Best Album 2013

Gary Clark Jr."Black and Blu" incredible in every imaginable way...although this was technically a 2012 release (oct 16th)....Sold most of it's copies and gained popularity  this year...Everyone should own this disc !

Temperance Movement and QOTSA are the two for me.

Re: Best Album 2013

Tedeschi Trucks Band "Made Up Mind" has to be right up there for me.  It's hard to remember what was released what year, though.

SNAP!  You beat me to it Dave.  I play Like Clockwork constantly, it's the best work QOTSA have ever done and as for the Temperance Movement....mere words are not enough.

Re: Best Album 2013

Four more worthy contenders:-

Aynsley Lister - Home
King King - Standing In The Shadows
The Hoax - Big City Blues
Mike Zito - Gone To Texas

When life gives you lemons; don't make lemonade.
Give back the lemons.  Why were the lemons free?  What's wrong with the lemons?
Do Not trust the lemons...

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: Best Album 2013

Ya know...I love QOTSA, but their stuff just keeps getting stranger and less melodic with every disc....I have really tried to like their new disc, but I just gag from lack of something with a beat...I guess it's just too prog for me...I mean..."Songs for the Deaf" is an all time classic....Fallen off quite a bit since then....and I hate to say this because Josh is a real talent...
