Mannnn, I wish I could make this show. but for those of you going, make sure that you don't miss Kayla Reeves and Triple Threat. Kayla is 14 and she has an amazing blues voice! I've been talking to her and she is very cool. Check her out on myspace- www.myspace.com/kaylareeves

Oh hell yes, did you see that group picture with Joe in it! I cant imagine her coming home from school and chillin to Etta James, how cool is that. I always thought I did a good job raising my kids, but look at some others, the bonamassas, the Reaves and so on, now they did it right! I brain washed my kids right in their cribs, it just didnt stick.

Shred - be careful in Oklahoma! A tornado almost got Michael Lynch when we were in OKC for the b-day bash! smile smile ....although Michael brought it on himself...when we were driving from St. Louis to OKC Michael was talking about wanting to chase tornados and video tape them. He almost got his wish that night! lol

That's funny (LOL), but I got to tell you, those suckers are scary! A few years back we had them chasing us from OK. to Memphis. I remember driving at night and we saw all these trucks and cars pulled over on hwy. 40. I'm looking at my oldest brother in the passengers seat, he is laughing his **** off " you wanted to see a tornado, here you go big boy ". We got to Memphis, picked up a case of beer, thinking our troubles were over, we drank and told our stories to my sister. Later that night the tornado warning monitor is going off for what seemed hours, were down in the shelter drunk " Yah baby, try and get us now, we aint scared of you (LOL) "

One of the other artists on this bill is a kid named Tyler Dow Bryant. I had to chime in and give him some props. He warmed up the other night for Dickey Betts and just completey blew everybody away(including Dicky). What amazing is that he is only 16 yrs. old.  His voice does sound like his age but his guitar playing is something else. Like another Joe in the making.

It's so great to see the blues being picked up by great young talents like him.

I'm surprised Shred didn't mention the twister that touched down in the Natomas area of Sacramento a year or two ago. If it had veered just north a bit it would have touched down in Roseville the home of Shred the twister magnet. We've been getting more and more twisters in norcal, one even touched down in Daly City just south of SF 2 years ago, not more than a mile from the ocean which really had the experts scratchin' their heads.

JDAWG, I had forgot about those twisters in Natomas and Daly city. I kid you not that trip across hwy 40 had me on edge.

I got a quick story about that trip. We holed up in this hotel outside of Little Rock, it was getting late, and we had already seen what it did in OK. City. I didnt want to drive at night, and my brother cant drive for nothing ( the dummy couldnt even navigate in the passenger seat ). Go to the lobby, I ask the lady for a room on the bottom floor. I figure if one of them hits, the top floor would go first. My brother and i get in the room ( not the one you met in Sparks, this ones older than me) anyways its late, I get ready to hit the sack. I put my shoes in the bathroom and crawl in . I hear this " what are your shoes doing in the bathroom", I look at my bro. " I'm glad I got all the brains in the family, when the train gets ready to come through this hotel, I'll be in there with my shoes on and mattress over my head in the tub." He laughs, " your gettin paranoid on me, relax " I wake up in the morning, go to use the bathroom, guess whose shoes were next to mine?" (LOL)

See ya bud!.......Shred
