Topic: 4 shows - wow, good job Joe!

Just want to say a big congrats to Joe - and Kevin and Roy - for the four Tour de Force blu-rays. Just finished watching the final one (Royal Albert) tonight. Great shows, each different. Nice filming and recording, though I thought Joe's guitar was too hot in the mix in the Shepherd's Bush DTS-HD audio - but the rest were great!

Anyway, what really did it for me in these videos was the extra behind the scenes and making of interviews. It's been a real pleasure to watch Joe's career develop, and I think he really deserves the kudos and career advancement he's gotten in recent years. Damn, but he's worked hard for it. It's so cool to get a glimpse of the real humans behind the "stars" of the show, and to understand a little of the trials and tribulations of making their way in the music industry.

I admit I got a bit emotional thinking of what it must have felt like for Joe to be up there in the Royal Albert, playing Rory and Gary's guitars. That was a real thrill.

Thanks Joe, and all the rest of the bands! I thought Michael Rhodes in particular seemed like a really cool guy with interesting things to say. And a great bass player, with a style totally different from Carmine's - who I respect immensely - and which I enjoyed very much. Joe surrounds himself with good people, which has a lot to do with his success, I think.

... And I was highly amused to see that the red box was back - the same one that was next to Joe in the Vienna acoustic set. I remember talking with Arlan about that before the Baltimore show last spring, and he said it was "just a box." Ha!

I should add, a big shout-out to Arlan for some awesome playing in this series as well. You da man, Arlan!
