Topic: Davy Knowles

Now there's a name you haven't heard lately! Traveled to Philadelphia Friday night for a long awaited sighting smile  I'm pleased to announce that he's maintained all the qualities that got him so much praise from the start. His guitar playing has remained full of passion and skill. He's taken his vocal skills to a new level. He sang a few new tunes as well as the old favorites. I had more than one "goose-bump" moment. lol  The new CD is ready to go, but there's some issues with distribution. He is hoping to tour next year and will be getting married in the Spring. I would venture to say he is now a Chicago resident smile He played with the Grainger Brothers on bass and drums. They were so tight, and such a good fit for Davy. They will be his touring band smile  So keep an eye open for the new CD to drop and fingers crossed for a tour. I'm working on a show in my area. wink

I was wondering where he had disappeared to.

I know he packed a lot into the first few years of his career but to actually be forced, or to decide to back out of that momentum and then try to pick it up again is a big deal.

Why I first heard BDS and saw him play on the video's I just felt he was going to be the next big thing. Maybe we should be just happy is going to be 'one of the crowd' of players that you can still get to see in small halls for reasonable dough.

Davy is playing Iridium in NYC as I type. 2 shows, 8pm and 10pm. They are being broadcast here  http://theiridium.com/iridiumlive/

So enjoyed seeing him playing again where I can actually see him - even if it is only on the computer.  Enjoying this very much.

Saw the last hour, sounds as good as ever. Like the new band. Bounced a few msgs off Evan and sadly he will not be involved in the very near future. Ch-ch-ch-changes!

Ah. Missed it. Is it possible to see it elsewhere. Do they have an archive function like with Daryl Hall's live shows.

Would relish the chance to see him live..........

What a fantastic time seeing Davy Knowles last night at the Rams Head in Annapolis. He was the featured guest of Larry Braggs and the Sideguys so he only sang 4 of his own songs which felt somewhat more like a tease, but you take what you can get smile He played on some of their songs as well. It was our first time seeing him and I would love to be seeing more of him in the future. He has been working on a new album and said he is planning on doing some touring in the future so that was good to hear. Was wonderful to meet him, he is such a sweet guy with a smile always on his face. It was also great hanging out with Cathy and her friend. Wish Bob, the General could have been there. Cathy made a get well sign for Davy to hold and I took a photo of it to put on Bob's facebook page. Here are the songs that Davy played. There was a new one called, "Catch The Moon".

Fantastic version of "Cortez" that Davy played at the Iridium tonight. Shows were awesome! He had Nicky Moroch joining him for a few songs. Nicky is an incredible guitarist and has played with a slew of people.

This is good to hear. Amber is a cool chick. Roy and I hung out with her a little bit when we saw Davy in Philly over new years.
CANT WAIT for the new album. Didn't like the The Rhythm Devils so I hope he got that out of his system.
