Topic: Forum members pedalboards

So.. all other pedalgeeks can update they current gear, i put this topic here hoping Joe could tell his gear changes too on his bedalboard.

Get started, have down right
Guitar-Tuner-Wah-Boost-Od-Fuzz-Amp

And up right
Reverb-Flanger-Delay-Tremolo-(chain to effect loop)

And they are powered by Sanyo pedal juice

Nice tight package, a few Joe's regular pedals

Are they all front of amp, anything on fx-loop ?

Re: Forum members pedalboards

The smaller pack goes via the loop smile

Re: Forum members pedalboards

Haven't gotten around to taking a pic of what I call my "Joe" board yet (mostly because I'm not done putting it together yet!), but here is a decent pic of my OTHER board (which makes me pretty happy): http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4142/4880 … 4504_o.jpg

My smaller board that I take to open mic gigs etc.:

My larger board, which is just too heavy to be taken to any gigs... big_smile

Probably too many T-Rex pedals on there, but hey, there IS a JB Wah ! wink

I used to have a sonic stomp.  Do you use it much?  I like it but never used it in a band setting before I sold it off to pay a bill.

Regardless of whichever other pedals are active at any given time, the Sonic Stomp is always on, and I almost never fiddle with the knobs now. I don't know the proper jargon to describe what I hear when the SS is active (I am an amateur hack, one of the hackiest), but it sounds to my ears like there is MORE of everything, and that more is also more clearly defined. I am very fond of this pedal. After a bit of experimenting, I did learn that I'm happiest when it is at the very end of the signal chain. I especially wasn't happy with the results when I tried it ahead of the dirt pedals...

Hope that helps...and you might want to check with others who can, you know, play.  big_smile

Re: Forum members pedalboards

Right...! Here goes...
Crybaby Classic - Mesa Toneburst - Mesa Fluxdrive - TS808 - Fuchs Plushdrive - Bogner Ecstacy Blue - Lehle ABC switcher.
Channel A is free, use as standby.
Channel B goes through Line6 MM4 to Marshall JTM-1 and Egnater Tweaker 15
Channel C to Marshall JCM-1 and another Tweaker 15.
Each Tweaker has a Boss reverb in its FX loop (FRV-1 and RV-5)
I use the Fluxdrive, Plushdrive or Ecstacy to shape my tone and then the Toneburst or TS808 to push the pedal they're in front of.
Not sure how to get a picture on here...

JB shows: Newcastle 2015, Hammersmith nights 3&4 2015, Calling Festival 2014, Newcastle 2012, Bridlington 2010
Guitars: Gibson Custom Shop Les Pauls; Skinnerburst #018 (Aged), Texas Burst (Heavy Aged), Fender Custom Shop Strat '63 Relic
Amps: Mini Jubilee Head, Carol-Ann Satin

Re: Forum members pedalboards

Thanks Coach.  I agree with you about the clarity thing.  Somebody once argued with me that its a simple as changing the eq on your amp but with my old blues jr it took it to places that a standard blues jr didn't go.  Maybe I'll look into getting another one.

Re: Forum members pedalboards

Morely Bad Horsie Wah -> Guyatone OD2 (gain very low, just a bit of grit & boost) -> Carl Martin Compressor -> Fulltone Fulldrive 2 -> Voodoo Labs Microvibe -> MXR Baddass '78 distortion -> Digitech DD3 delay.  Powered by a Voodoo Labs power brick, and it sits on a homemade wooden pedalboard, which works real well.  I was never a huge pedal guy, the board just sort of kept expanding over the years....  Really, the only things I use regularly are the Fulldrive 2 and the DD3.  Everything else is more for a dash of color here and there.

Lately I've been going straight into my main amp (Dr. Z MAZ 38) and I've been really happy with the tone.  Volume on 10 and she really screams, guitar volume knob cleans it up nicely.

Re: Forum members pedalboards

Right now, I am using mostly BOSS pedals, and a couple of Dunlop's JB Signatures.

I use the JB Wah and FF together straight to the amp.  I don't use them with the BOSS pedal board.  I think they sound better on their own.  At least while using them on my Marshall DSL15C.

I mostly use the amp on the clean setting.

For the BOSS, from right to left, TU3 Tuner, Adaptive Distortion, NS2 Suppressor, Flanger, Super Chorus, Digital Delay.  I also have a Metal Core that I use from time to time.

But, I love plugging my Gibson LP Standard straight on the amp, no effects, just using volume and tone controls to achieve a cool sound.

Re: Forum members pedalboards

I have gone through hundreds of pedals...and a lot of learning has been done. I've moved away from big boys like Analogman, Fulltone, Lovepedal, Mojohand and JHS...as I have found them to be just very, very expensive clones...pure circuit copies in many cases. That annoyed me a fair bit. I aim to get a big dry Plexi sound...combining Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, Black Crowes, Eagles...and many other jam bands. Wound back on the modulation over the years as bar the Drybell Vibe Machine...I haven't found a vibe that works well with a Les Paul (really)...delays have been and gone...just don't use them as much.
So now it really comes down to a variation of three 'overdriven' sounds.

Running two custom Bryce Furball pedals from my good friend and tech. I use them with opposite settings. They are like mini amps with an extra Klon/EP Booster punch that just drives the 100w head to where it should be at searing volumes...plus clean up like fuzzes. These two pedals have destroyed every pedal that has come near them including Analogman KoT, Klones, Lazy J Cruiser, Kingsley Jester etc...magic boxes that I cannot gig without now.
I also have a Plum Crazy Fuzzy Lady Ge Fuzz...a/b'd with a Sunface and Fuzzface...this comes out on top..built fantastically..nice bias knob.
Sonic Research Turbo Tuner - the best...if you haven't got one...you're missing out!
