Topic: i-pod restores.....

...this is indeed an offtopic, but does anyone know what to do with an ipod touch that doesn't respond to ANY touch? Froze a while back (it's jr idolbone's),and.him being more techy, tried to restore to factory settings-apparently you hold down the 'on' button and the bottom centre square button, the screen flashes, then press the start button again.Nothing.Tried several times and this afternoon i DID manage to get the music back, played a bit of Airbourne, then left it to fully charge. This evening, tried again-nothing.Went on itunes and went for full factory restore, took about 20 mins on this old PC,thought that was that-same thing,no reaction to swiping across the either 'reconfigure'slide across the bottom,or the 'slide to power off' one at the top. He's preparing for uni this september, tho he does have all his music on his laptop he wants to take it and his B&W Zeppelin with him.HELP!!!

Re: i-pod restores.....

PS .I think it may not be a restore issue, but the 'touch' aspect of the machine itself? (hope that's not too bleedin obvious!)

Re: i-pod restores.....

You may be onto it. Half the screen not working says it is the screen touch itself that has conked out, especially since it is intermittent. Time for the tech shop IMO. A very hard reset may be a last resort. That is remove the battery and let it sit a while before trying a restart.

Re: i-pod restores.....

You could be right Rick,no local apple store so it's gonna be packaged up and sent away-if it wasn't a 32G ,probably wouldn't be worth it,all the music is from jr's itunes' laptop,so not ALL bad.cheers.
