Topic: Joe / Beth Amsterdam DVD - Songs You Love To Hear

I'm sure they will both bring the most powerful emotive live set with that very talented and wonderful array of musicians onstage for 2 hours at Le Carre in Amsterdam

But as a fan what would you love to hear, some fave choices from "Don't Explain" and "Seesaw"
and a few soul, motown or rock covers throw in

here's mine

Seesaw
Close To My Fire
Sinner's Prayer
I'd Rather Go Blind
Miss Lady
Dont't Explain
Something's Got A Hold On Me
I'll Take Care Of You
Well Well
LA Song
Prisoner
Ain't No Way
Nutbush City Limits
I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know

Hey thanks Michael, you inspired me to come up with a perfect entry-that won't make it.  It's an idea I wish.............perfect for the ongoing project series (next time!) Back to real possibilities...

I know you meant "I Love You More THAN You'll Ever Know" (not the, neutral), which is as much a given as I'd Rather Go Blind.  I'd like to see (hear) some things from Beth's "Bang Bang Boom Boom"-especially "Baddest Blues"!!!!!!! yikes

Re: Joe / Beth Amsterdam DVD - Songs You Love To Hear

As I sit here in sunny Paris trying to get my head together after having only 3 hrs sleep in the past 24 hrs, I would love to hear "For My Friend" as well, plus "Can't Let You Go" and "Rhymes"

I take it you can't sleep on airplanes either?! hmm  AHHH, Pair ee's, the beauty can be smelled in the air (or lack thereof down by the Musée d'Orsay too early in the morning mad)! big_smile

How about Beth singing something like "Stop!" or something really a lot of fun like "I Don't Believe" (can you see her dancing around during the break?) ? Sure, I do not believe,...unlikely by far...  However, as far as highlighting Joe songs, I still have pangs of thirst and hunger for a Beth-Joe duet (encore?) of "Asking Around For You". cool

I don't think that's totally far fetched... I think I recall Beth saying in an interview that Baddest Blues might be done during the Joe/Beth tour. Sounded like they considered doing an original song from each of their catalogs. (Hmmm... I remember suggesting that months ago... heh heh.)  Things could change of course but sounds like it was in the plan at some point.

Edit: Oh just saw your idea of Asking Around for You in a duet. I would LOVE that!

That's another great choice. Like to see what Joe would do with the guitar part.

P.S. I hope they do a couple acoustic numbers. Beth often does in her shows and now Joe is getting more into acoustic. Would be a cool intimate part of the show.

No Love On The Street with Beth in the background ...

Sweet!

Here's something I'll ask you Beth-O; How further back would you like to see Beth reach for one of her own songs to bring into new light?! hmm

Oh yes, Caught Out In The Rain. Can you imagine her interacting with Joe the way she does with PJ, especially like the version I had of them at the Blockley in Philadelphia. The emotional intensity would be incredible!

And yeah, Rocket, sleeping and planes just don't go together smile. Family is a little cranky from lack of sleep. We never enjoy those long overnight flights in cramped conditions.

An oldie would be cool with me too. Her catalog is so big now that it's really hard to pick. Guilty is also a good choice (Randy Newman cover) and she does a killer job on it.
