Topic: CHARLIE HUNTER TRIO at the WMBF

I dont know if any of you saw this EXTREMELY talented young man but i know i did. At least i THINK i saw what i did. This dude played an 8 string guitar. With no real bassist in the band,he makes it sound as if it is a quartet playing, done so by while playing the bass notes of each song with his thumb on the top 2 strings and the bottom 2 strings being run through a bass amplifier while simultaneously playing the lead guitar parts on the lower 6 strings. And im not talking about playing something like "Tip Toe Through The Tulips" either. This cat was flying all over that guitar. Done so smooth and effortlessly to boot. If anyone has a chance to see this act i would say dont miss it.

Tell me about the car i saw parked outside your door ? Tell me what you left me waiting two or three hours for ? Tell me why when the phone rings, baby, your up and across the floor ? Please dont keep me wondering no more.....

Re: CHARLIE HUNTER TRIO at the WMBF

I've been a huge Charlie Hunter fan for a few years now. he is the most inspiring musician to me that is alive today. Even though I don't play an 8 string his overall control, rhythmic independence and approach has influenced me greatly. Every time I listen to him I feel inspired to be a musician as opposed to just a guitar player, which is what I think he is. I'd love to see him live one day.
