Topic: One World Trade Center ( a changed New York Skyline)

Before I left for work this morning I was watching the Today Show.  Matt Lauer was on a crane at the top of the new One World Trade Center.   They installed the last pieces to the tower today to make it the tallest  building in the USA at 1776 feet.  I was overcome by emotions for the change to the wonderful skyline of New York City.  Remembering those hero's that lost their lives  there and how far we have come from that day.  The new tower was shining in the sunlight this morning as a testament that terror may change our lives but it will not stop us.  As a proud American,  I wanted to start this thread to honor those who fight for us, work hard for us and that give us our freedom each and every day.  God  Bless America and long may she stand.

Re: One World Trade Center ( a changed New York Skyline)

I worked in Manhattan on 9/11 although in midtown. We at first heard a "twin engine plane" had hit the Trade Center but it soon became obvious it was a deliberate act.  I spent the night in my office as i had no way to get home (staten island). i know people who died, barely escaped, lost family members.  It was a time we should never forget. I've been to the memorial about a year ago and the pools overcame me.
