Topic: Coranado Rockford Show

Another Sold Out performance last night in Rockford. I think the set list was the same as Minneapolis . We sat in the first row left side and Joe did many red hot solo's right in front of us . I met Lee at the show , he came down and introduced himself . Even Joe's fans are all top notch. Joe had on some pretty funky looking striped socks that matched his purple shirt perfectly . He was really on again last night , how does he do it? The crowd was very lively and again the sound was blazing . Right after the show Arlan walked up to the edge of the stage and gave my friend his copy of the set list. It was her first show and she was blown away . Im telling ya , this band is on the biggest roll possible . So it's on to Chicago for Joe and I wish I was going to be there. But I did the Minneapolis and Rockford show with great seats and Im very happy.  Good luck on the rest of the tour guys.

Yes, same set as MPLS. Very good show as usual. Nice meeting flatsman right before the show, I'm sure we"ll see you down the road!

We were 6th row center and there was quite a few empty seats in the row in front of us and the row behind. I think they may have been comp seats because a well known Chicago blues guitarist Nick Moss was sitting in front of us and Arlan's wife was sitting right in front of him. Also, there was definitely a few rowdy people in the audience, but overall I thought it was one of the most subdued crowds I've seen in a long, long time. Most people in front of and around us wanted to sit during "Just Got Paid", e.g. Even Joe noticed, and Renee saw him mouth what appeared to be a "WTF"?

First show I've been to where videotaping was apparently not allowed although we didn't see any signs indicating such. If the venue is going to have that policy, fine, but let us know beforehand because the ushers scurrying around is very disruptive in itself.

Doesn't it just break your heart about the empty seats, knowing how many people would die to have one of them...

Pretty good show. I thought opening with a half dozen, or so acoustical numbers was a nice touch. It was my 3rd JB concert, love his work. Didn't much dig the yelling, whistling when theaudience should have been listening.  It was an appreciative    audience, even though they were not as energized as I would have liked. I did find the spot lights shining in the crowd really irritating.  This sounds kinda negative.  Not my true intent.  I drove 3 hours to see Joe in Rockford and would do it again.

It was really nice of you to come down and introduce yourself.  About that sitting down during Just Got Paid . I told my friend who was at her first Bonamassa show that " this is F*** Up . I was standing longer than most but people in back of me were grumbling to sit down in front. I mean I am in the first row at a blazing Bonamassa show listening to the last song of the concert and being told to " sit down in front " . I guess I didn't really know what to do . I saw Joe Say " everybody up ' and everybody got up . But some of the fans in back of us just stood up for a few mins. and then told us to sit down.  I was really shocked and felt bad for Joe . In Minneapolis we stood through the entire song as it should be in my opinion.  It is my opinion that the folks that tell people to sit down on the last song are just either new to Joe's shows or just need to stay home and watch it on DVD. I get it about sitting down so people can see Joe play , but when its Just Got Paid and the last song we should show some respect and give the band their due. Just one mans opinion. I did yell up to Joe at the end that it was tremendous and thanked him very loudly. But I still felt bad about sitting through part of the last song. Sometimes you just cant win . But it was a kick butt show as usual . There is no live band like this one. Joe is the man.

Third Joe show...was in the front row on the side. I really like the opening acoustic set he did!! Arlan brought some missing elements to the keyboard side. It added a dimension that Rick didn't have. Joe seems a little more at ease to interact with the audience which is important (especially the remark about his best socks). Where Joe went with "John Henry" was great! My son who is 28 and has been at one other show with me was waiting for Slo-Gin and couldn't have been happier...thank you. We lost a son/brother six years ago last night and that song has a lot of significance.
Way too many old people like me at this show...we need to bring some younger people into the circle that appreciate Joe's music.

Carman...you are the man! keep on rocking.
