Topic: Glenn Hughes

Glenn Hughes is doing a short Australian tour at the end of April. He will perform in an ad hoc group called Kings Of Chaos. The show will be in two halves; acoustic first set and rock second set, covering both tracks from many of the groups he’s worked with.

April 22 Melbourne Corner Hotel
April 24 Brisbane Tempo Hotel
April 25 Sydney Basement

No matter how far you try to push the envelope, it remains stationery

Re: Glenn Hughes

I think these 3 dates are with his solo band.

Kings of Chaos are a separate project.

Re: Glenn Hughes

That's right, Kings of Chaos is a supergroup that he appeared with at a mega-stadium extravaganza while here, billing with Van Halen, Aerosmith and a plethora of (good) Oz acts. I didn't go...

I did go to the last show at The Basement, a small 2-300 or so capacity underground restaurant and bar.
Absolutely superb show, mostly rock with a short acoustic set. Glenn was genuine and humble and seemed delighted to (be alive and) have the opportunity to play for us, as much as the other way round.  Band was a 4-piece, with a local keyboard player and they did a selection of Purple, BCC, Trapeze and solo material.

My high point was 'Cold' which he did solo with acoustic guitar - worth the price of admission alone. And the voice - wow!
The finisher Burn and Black Country were just awesome. Special mentions for Getting Tighter, Medusa, Mistreated...

I'm neutral on the rift, I can see both sides. I'm thankful that in the space of nine months, between Joe and Glenn's tours I've managed to see the 4 songs above which are BCC setlist staples, as well as John Henry and Song of Yesterday, performed live wonderfully by exceptional musicians.
