Topic: Sparks, Nv. Show

Afternoon,

Took my brother and two friends to the show last night. A tight venue with tremendous sound. I know there have been previous post concerning the mix. They do a great job there, put it on your list if you need to hear a great gig.

The place was sold out, our table was right up front next to JDAWGs. Joe put on another amazing show. MY friends and brother were blown away. The are huge fans now, Brian my buddy lives in Omaha, and is going to keep his eye open for any shows close by. They were most impressed by Joes singing as all I had raved about was his guitar work. Bogies drum solo was frickin awsome! Around half way through the show Brian yells out " JONNY BEEEE!" Joe looks at him doesnt even blink and says " MY NAMES JOE", it sure brought out some laughs. After the show I hung around with JDAWG and my brother just to the left of the stage. Carmine came out and I introduced my self and brother, cool guy, it seems he's Puerto Rican like my mom, nice ice breaker! I gave Donny a disk of Lance Lopez, asked if he would give it to Joe. We go out of the place into the casino, I look to my left and see the man. Now I have this ugly looking shiner, I am real uncomfortable with it, and I get to see the great Joe Bonamassa. Joe was cool, signed my ticket stub, and wished me the best on the shiner! All I could muster up was thanks, I was to embarrased to even be myself. Oh well he probably saw the drunks I was with and thought what a loser (LOL). Let me get this straight, JDAWG intro. me to Joe, he was great, a really cool guy, glad I got to meet him, as well as Michael B. who approached me.

Got a quick little story for you. It was probably 30 minutes after meeting Joe. My brother and I are walking through the casino, I needed directions to restroom I believe ( Im not real sure if that was accurate, I drank a ton, first night out with the boys, so juvenile! ). Anyways I go to the nearest bar for help, I lean in and there are two guys next to me. I glance and it is Rick and Joe, it caught me off guard, so I just say hi and by. I'm walking away and look behind me, my brother Gary is hugging Joe. Now my brother is one of the greatest people you will meet, having said that he is a bit of a joker like his brother. My first thought was "oh no, dont pick him up!" He didnt thank god. So I'm laughing my **** off " dude what were you doing, man I was hoping you didnt start your martial arts stuff on him". Gary is lol " I love the guy I had to give him a hug".

Well it was a memorable night, cant wait for the next show, I got 4 more I"m working on.

Shred...

You may of read my post under Introductions...anyways, I was at the San Luis Obispo show the night before the Sparks show and was allowed backstage to meet Joe. Carmine got us there, I agree, he is an excellent dude. Anyhow, I felt the same damn way backstage with Joe. Nervous and didn't know what to say or how to say it. Something Joe said though that was pretty funny now that I think about it.
I asked him about Kinman pickups as it has been written in many articles that Joe has at least purchased some Kinmans and tried them in his Strats. When asked about the Kinmans from Australia Joe replied, "The only Kinman I know of from Australia is Nicole Kinman...
I held it back, though I wanted to ask him if he knew Nicole Kidman or not and if so did Keith Urban know about this...but I didn't. I didn't want to risk gettin tossed out.
Joe definitely has a sense of humor, and my whole point was I was as uncomfortable and dumbfounded standing there in front of Joe as it sounds like you may of been.
I too got my ticket stub signed and some photos of my girlfriend and Joe and of course myself and Joe. Its a night I'll never forget...take care man.  Fandango
