Topic: Channel switching question

I'm running two amps with an ABY box. Both amps are on all the time to get that blend and wide sound. For my crunch/lead tone I have a tube screamer running into the fender and use the dirty channel on the Jubilee. The problem is I like to run both amps clean (slight gain) and then switch to the TS and Dirt channel for heavier tones. This means I have to do the pedal dance and get both the TS and channel switcher on. Is there a pedal out there that will let me have both an effects pedal and a channel changing footswitch connected together so I only need to hit one pedal to get both on?

Re: Channel switching question

A series of those "effect loop" style pedals might work but then your pedalboard will turn into a real mind f@*&... I don't know how to channel switchers work with a Jub either. You can go the expensive route and use one of those voodoo labs ground control things, whatever they're called. Or the RJM amp gizmo.

Or somehow rig a switcher pedal that controls both pedals and have the foot switches close enough together so you can press both simultaneously.

Re: Channel switching question

What I do is have both amps cranked and clean it up with the volume knob on my guitar and then tubescreamer for some more dirt.

Re: Channel switching question

I 've placed both pedals exremely close in proximity so one foot hits both on one swipe.

Re: Channel switching question

Thanks for the help lads. Looking at those links it seems a looper pedal with a tuner out option might be the go. Mostly I do just use the guitar volume control as my method of cleaning up the tone but sometimes I just need that really clean tone and volume to go with it. Trying to hit both pedals at once is what I've been doing but in the heat of a gig it can be a bit hit and miss. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Channel switching question

Yeah try the looper pedal. Best to work things out on paper first with how you're going to route things etc so you don't come up short after you thing you've gotten what you need. I'm sure you know what you're doing tho. If you're wanting to keep the clean tones real clean and go then to distortion, then stick with your plan and find a way to make it work.

Re: Channel switching question

I've been in touch with Brian at Loopmaster and he's suggested the Single loop effect/channel switcher http://www.loop-master.com/product_i...products_id=96

However I'm not sure how I could hook it up so that the TS is only running through the Fender while the pedal is also changing the channel on the Jub. He's suggested that "A Y adapter can share the channel out on the Loop-Master and switch both channels on the amps as well." but I can't really get my head around how it would be wired up.

Re: Channel switching question

Link isn't working but I've ordered a patch box from there before. Took a long time to get. Hopefully if you order, it goes smoothly.

So you mean a Y cable like adapter so when button on pedal is pushed, the signal goes to 2 different places?

Re: Channel switching question

Correct link: http://www.loop-master.com/product_info … ucts_id=96

I'm not really sure what he meant with the Y cable to be honest, I'm guessing it's as you say. I'm starting to think that I may have to just get better at the ol' 2 pedal stomp.

Re: Channel switching question

I wonder if you could just go into a regular ABY box and then run one output straight to your Jubilee and the second output to the above box. It would go into the "in" obviously, and then the "out" to your Fender. The "channel" output would go directly to your channel input on Jubilee. The "send & return" would go through the tube screamer. Then when you hit the button, it activates the Tube Screamer and changes channels on Jubilee. I assume only 2 channels on Jubilee so a foot switch would toggle back and forth between the two? This would eliminate having to use your current Jubilee foot-switch.

Re: Channel switching question

Yeah that makes sense. I'd pretty well come to that conclusion myself after drawing a basic schematic. The question is would the channel switch change the Jub with that configuration? I guess I need to run this plan by the Loopmaster guy and see if it's possible. Thanks for the input mate.

Re: Channel switching question

I don't see why it wouldn't work. The pedal's description says its to activate effects pedals and change channels on your amp at same time, so it shouldn't matter WHICH amp the "channel" output is going to, as long as its going to and amp with a footswitchable channel input. Is the footswitch for the Jubilee just a single button that toggle between the 2 channels?

Re: Channel switching question

Yes the Jub has just a simple one button option. Good point....I just may make the purchase. Thanks again for the sounding board. smile

I've ordered the loop master pedal in the end. I'll report back once it gets here.
