Topic: 2013 Gibson 60s tribute

Anyone seen these online? Burstbuckers, proper rosewood fretboard, gold top for £849. Black plastic sans pick guard, grovers. Just missing the JB signature on the truss rod cover but prob as near to a JB studio as I'm going to get!!
Seems like a good deal to me.

I believe the JB Studio had a thicker 50s style neck.

You are absolutely right but I thought overall it was a fairly well spec'd les Paul for the price. Truth be told, I've never got on with the JB epiphone neck when I've tried it, so if the USA studio is that size, I might prefer the 60s neck on the tribute. I always thought my Traditional had a 50s style neck, but it's definitely less club-like than the epiphone.
Happy new year!

Re: 2013 Gibson 60s tribute

All studio models are 50's style necks including the JB model.  Nothing special about the neck shape on those.  I had a Epiphone Joe Bonamassa and it was much thicker in the neck then my Les Paul studio Plus top with a 50's neck.  Epiphone just didn't really get the neck shape right, but I liked it still.  My Traditional Pro just feels slimmer at the top of the neck, mid ways its about as thick as the Studio.  The Epiphone is just fatter all around.  I also had a Epiphone Dot and that neck was as fat as the Jb Epiphone.  So I think its no surprise to me that your Traditional feels less club like.
