Topic: JBF3 'Scratchy fuzz pot'

Hi all,

I'm brand  new  to this  forum, but not to Joe Bonamassa's music..... anyhow, I got a JBF3 Fuzz for Xmas and  it sounds great with an already overdriven tone from my Marshall 6100LE, BUT  the  fuzz pot is a little  scratchy when  moved- there is  no noise (other than the usual FF hiss) from the Vol pot but either turning the  fuzz up or down, it crackles  whe   moved anyone experienced anything like  this or have  any potential soulutions.  I have  read that a leaky cap can cause  this  kind  of sound, or is  it something a small spalsh of contact cleaner could fix.

Thanks  for your help in advance.

More likely the potentiometer itself.  Notorious problem (with potentiometers, not JBF3 Fuzz!). Try the contact cleaner, but it may not work.  Part replacement instead.  I would hope it is under warranty?  It should be, and trying to clear the pot is certainly no grounds for voiding it.

Good luck.

yes contact cleaner should do it. take the back off without battery in an spray on the back of the pot as you turn the knob to work in the cleaner. Let it evaporate then give it a try.
