Topic: Bonamassa signature PAF pickups

I'm thinking of upgrading my 57 classics in my Les Paul with a Seymour Duncan Bonamassa PAF set. Who has that set and what differences can I expect?
What pots, caps and wiring does Joe's original have? 50s or modern?
Currently I have a RS guitarworks vintage set with 500k pots and 50s wiring.

Re: Bonamassa signature PAF pickups

I think the pots and stuff you got in the 50's wiring is good enough.  I don't have a set of those pickups but I do have a the RS guitarworks kit you're talking about.  Its a great kit, about as good as you can get.  From what I know of the SD's they are a great set and would be a great upgrade from the 57' classics.

Re: Bonamassa signature PAF pickups

I know about the quality of RS Guitarworks. What I need to know is what wiring is in Joe's original. 50s or modern? Can anyone chime in?

Re: Bonamassa signature PAF pickups

I hate spam!  Anyway the answer is Joe uses 50's wiring.  On his 59's those are stock and his 60' is stock so that's 50's wiring.  His Signature model Custom Shop models are 50's wiring.  As for the Epiphone, Gibson Studio, and the Gibson Standard USA model that just came out I have no idea what they are but the Standard has the Seymour Duncan Signature model pickups in it.

Re: Bonamassa signature PAF pickups

Why you getting rid of the 57 Classics?
Lots of people find themselves going back to those pickups.
