Re: We Want Grooove

Lee and Rocket, there seems to be some confusion on Lee's extra tickets,  I will NOT be using them, I have my own and had a friend who got interested late, he then backed out even later.  I'll see you guys tomorrow. Sorry for the confusion. Lee I did send another PM but it looks like you didn't get it.

Understood.  All accounted for. NO problem.  Going to all 4 events?

Sure would've been great to see you's present, Lee & Renee and Bill S.!

Thanks Rocket,  I was worried there for a minute that I might deprive someone a chance to go.

Yes I have tix for all four shows.  Haven't missed one yet, wouldn't miss this one for the world.  I'll be giving Tryston a ride on Thursday, he's visting from Phoenix and I live just a couple of miles from the hotel he'll be at so I'm glad I can help a Bonabuddy out.

See you guys tomorrow!

Re: We Want Grooove

Wow just got home from the show.  Words fail me. I've been to all four RCFP shows and this one may have been the best. The band was really tight. Carmen came by to say hi, he didn't play though. He didn't need to Ron, Mike, Tal, Joe, and Renato all played their asses off. Great show.  Hi to all the Bonabuddies I saw tonight.

What Chris said! It's 3am and we drove home through light rain most of the way. It held off until we were all seated inside. Incredible gig. I have it all taped except the last song when battery ran out due to operator error. I'll get it tomorrow. Nice to meet so many of the gang with some fresh additions from far flung places. Natasha, (NMagCorn) and husband Phil all the way from Maryland. Vets of previous gigs as well. Good times and great music. More after tomorrow's repeat. I'm frazzled.
Rick
Oh yeah. Joe only had one guitar tonight. A very vintage goldtop. Believe me, he didn't need another.

Re: We Want Grooove

I have barely been able to sleep all night! OH MY GOD! It was the most awesome experience ever! Seeing RCFP at the Baked Potato is like Joe coming to your house with his incredibly talented friends and jamming in your dimly lit basement while people scurry back and forth bringing you enormously decadent baked potatoes and stuff to drink.  Rick, I can't thank you enough for this experience.  We sat basically 3 ft away from Joe and the band. The songs were amazing and the jams just mind blowing. There is nothing quite like watching supremely talented musicians as they interact with each other during a song. The slight nod, a smile, a small gesture or turn of the body are the only communication needed as they play together to create musical masterpieces. They are truly artists at work.
It was also really cool to meet Joe for the first time. I was working up the courage as I squeezed past him to get to the bathroom. When I came out he was still standing there with some people and I introduced myself and shook his hand (glad I remembered to wash my hands smile )My husband and I also went up to him later as we were making the rounds to get the cd signed by everyone in the band. He actually chatted with us for a little while! I mean, there we were actually hanging out with Joe! It was just so incredibly cool. We saw Carmine as well and he patted us on the shoulder as if he had known us all along.  The whole thing was truly mind blowing.
The other aspect of this that was wonderful was meeting Rick, Rocket, Front Row Fred, and all the others from this forum. It brought back memories of when we used to go on tour following the Grateful Dead and how we would meet up with all our friends at all the different shows. When Jerry Garcia died, a darkness definitely descended upon us. It was not only the end to my husband's most favorite music, but also the end of a socialization with people that didn't exist for us anywhere else.  I am just so thankful that we found Joe and with him this amazingly kind and wonderful group of people who we now have a chance to interact with and call our friends. Looking forward to another show tonight as well as meeting others in Las Vegas, Baltimore, and Amsterdam.
And by the way, my husband did record the show on his iphone with the tascam recorder and we are listening to it right now and it sounds awesome!! When we get home he'll put it up on DIME.

Re: We Want Grooove

Just received my RCFP CD and T Shirt in the mail. While I could not get to the show and it sounds like it was awesome. Getting the CD/DVD is going to help me deal with that. Some good listening tonight!!!

Re: We Want Grooove

Mine just arrived as well today....turn it up to 11.....:)

Re: We Want Grooove

Received my disc also and just watched the DVD. AWESOME! Cranking the cd on the stereo as I type. LOVIN' IT!!

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: We Want Grooove

We're on station and the queue is filling. Bill Twomey from New Jersey and Trystan from Phoenix are here tonight, plus most of the usual suspects.

Re: We Want Grooove

Just watched the 3 webisodes.  Coolness all around!

Never heard Tal's voice before and was surprised at his accent.  What is it?  Sounds a little like Arnold Schwarzenegger...
