Topic: Guitar Of The Week 36

That '64 Firebird is SOOOOOOOOOO FREAKIN' SWEET! So simple looking with the 1 pick up and  1 volume  / 1 tone control.

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

Agreed. I've always been a fan of firebirds. Can't wait to have one of my own.

Block inlay Gibson ES-335, 50th anniversary American Strat, '61 RI White SG, '62 RI Relic Strat, Replica Korina Flying V, Gold Tone Paul Beard Resonator,  '58 Les Paul RI, American Highway 1 Fender Strat, Breedlove Acoustic, Stonetree Joe Bonamassa Custom, HIWATT Lead 100R, Reeves Custom 30.

I'm just a little biased, but rpic, I think you are right!

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

The Wheels Of Fire guitar!  Looks just like Claptons on that classic Cream Album!  My pick of the litter!

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

This must be the same guitar Joe has been using this tour for "Slow Train".

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

That's the slow- train guitar all right: http://jbonamassa.com/joes-guitar-of-th … irebird-1/

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

Oh yeah Dan, and you should feel so proud seeing that cool guitar out there on stage in such good hands.

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

My wife took these at the show in Portland last year.

The night that Joe received the guitar at the meet and greet.

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

Ok so I'm putting 2 and 2 together here and I'm thinking that Skamokawa gave that beast to Joe.....yes/no?

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

I let him play one lousy song on her, now he won't give her back!

from Joe's almost "biggest fan"!!

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

Lest anyone think my above post is serious, let me just say in my most impressive Foghorn Leghorn voice "It's a joke, son, a joke"
Now to answer your question, Yes, I did try to give Joe Treasure. He felt it would be better if we called it a "long term loan", that way if I wanted her back she would still be mine. Good call Joe! Treasure really means a great deal to me, I bought her brand new and have been her only "owner" since new.
Back in the day, no one wanted this guitar- single pick up, no tremelo and butt ugly, my how things have changed!
I am so proud of what Treasure has achieved, and so honored to have Joe play her! Also, I get a huge thrill to think that I have helped my favorite artist just a tiny, tiny bit. And as an added bonus, most nights I can look up at the clock and, adjusted to West Coast time, can think Treasure just went on stage, where ever they may be.
I'll get to see her and hold her again, but she is right where she should be! I truly think that I got the best part of this deal.
Thank you Joe, it's been one hell of a ride!!!

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

does what a Firebird is supposed to do, cut through the mix

That was very apparent at the recent D.C. show!

Re: Guitar Of The Week 36

A friend of mine on another forum was there the night you gave it to Joe. It's a cool story as he tells it.
