Hard to believe

Re: Jimi's 70th today

Nice for someone to remember his birth for a change.

I wonder, if he were alive today, what would you like to hear him play?

I would choose this one .... play this one Jimi > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfmbel7xIt4

I'd like to hear him cover Color and Shape, or maybe Pain & Sorrow :-)

Re: Jimi's 70th today

Jimi's 70th, stopped me right in my tracks when I heard that on the radio @ noon as do a number of things that make me aware that I'll be 60 in Feb.!!!!!! How did that happen????? So, would Jimi still be blowin' up stacks of Marshalls rockin' out living off his early fame as so many artists of his generation do these days? Or, would he maybe have mellowed with age and steered into more of a blues thing? I guess all we can do is speculate since he left us way too soon. I doubt we'll ever see another quite like him, what a talent!!!

Jimi's frozen at 27.  Never saw a gray whisker or wrinkle and I can hear him laughin' 'bout this 70 gibberish.

Pain and Sorrow always reminds me of Hendrix smile

I am with JDawg, wow how the time flew.  Just hard to believe 70.  Part of my Hendrix mystique was his lyrics.  They are so spellbinding in a certain way.  Just like he was.  Happy Birthday Jimi,  who needs a cake with candles, when you can light your guitar on fire.  And the Wind Cries Jimi..............

Well, I stand up next to a mountain

And I chop it down with the edge of my hand

Well, I pick up all the pieces and make an island

Might even raise a little sand

Re: Jimi's 70th today

I Think he would have amazed all of us today if he was still around...another new release is coming in 2013....PEOPLE ,HELL & ANGELS .
My favorite track is on here in a different form "HEAR MY TRAIN A COMIN"........:)

.Jimi Hendrix ‘People, Hell & Angels’ Track Listing:

‘Earth Blues’
‘Somewhere’
‘Hear My Train A Comin”
‘Bleeding Heart’
‘Baby Let Me Move You’
‘Izabella’
‘Easy Blues’
‘Crash Landing’
‘Inside Out’
‘Hey Gypsy Boy’
‘Mojo Man’
‘Villanova Junction Blues’

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........
