Topic: speaker help!!!!!

hi guys i currently using ev12 l with my budda sd 80
i love the amp but it way too loud for me so im getting it dropped  to 40w
i like the evs but you have tp push the amp so hard for the speakers to work and they are to compressed at lower volumes so im thinking of an alternative??
i like vintage 30s but they seem a bit shrill but they give the authentic tone of the guitar thing ok,

im looking for a vintage 30 style but less shrill!
any alternative ideas would cool
when i used a marshall with EVs they sounded the same as when i put the budda through em!

Re: speaker help!!!!!

Check into warehouse guitar speakers (wgs.com) - they make vintage 30 clones that are apparently less shrill. They make some fantastic greenback copies, too.

Good Luck!

Re: speaker help!!!!!

Can you talk more about EVs are lower volumes? I haven't noticed any difference with mine at lower vol. If I see your problem, maybe I'd switch too.

For a V30 Style speaker without the shrill, I highly recommend the Eminence Governor. It was made to compete with the V30 but you can see from the graphs the high end isn't ear piercing. I have one in my Fender Blues JR
